We never argue about politics. The spiciest ones are about control. I want mom to stop smoking, she has complexes about authority and screams at me when I try to 'boss her around' or 'it's my own business' when we talk about reducing her cigs. I began to be more confident, talk with more people, being friendlier to strangers, and since she grew up in a negative way, she tries to correct me by mocking or yelling at me and I resist her. I can feel her insecurities about her prize-son slipping away from her.
