Check your system. Make sure everything is up to date. There's no reason you should have performance issues with that hardware. Is your ram in dual channel mode? Do you have an XMP profile set for your ram? Are you having thermal throttling issues?

Most common issue with pre built systems are thermal throttling. Download a hardware monitor and keep and eye on your CPU and GPU temps. Check your CPU throttle temp threshold. Each CPU throttles speed at different temps. That is usually the most common issue with fps drops. If you see a spike in temps, then clean your system and apply new paste.

Just checked my instance of Hogwarts Legacy. At launch it requires 8.5gb of RAM. So if you have only 8gb of RAM, you won't be able to launch this game. After about an hour of place it averages around 9-10gb of RAM. So even 16gb of RAM is honestly not enough and you will probably have some performance issues. 32gb is the recommended amount of RAM needed for this game and probably most games going forward.

Yea. In most cases it will work just fine. But you will lose a ton of performance. So it's ok for casual use and most will never notice the performance hit. But when it comes to gaming you will 100% notice if your ram doesn't match.

yea its about 50cents and hour for the particular instance i use but thats with a lot of tweaking and licensing stuff, you can get away with about 60-80 cents depending on the instance region, on demand, per hour

Speed has nothing to do with it. The multiple stick have to be the same size and have the same timings (not the same as speed). If these don't match then they won't work in a XMP profile setup and also will not work in dual channel mode. You are losing over 50% of the rates performance if all these things don't match.

That's terrible advice. You are correct about it running at the slowest ram stick but you are also only running at 50% of the rated speed of the slowest ram stick. So it's a double hit on your systems performance. Ram is cheap. Don't mix and match ever.

Also most RAM you buy online hardly ever gives you the full timings. Usually only give you the base timing indicated by a "C" number. Like "C18". Buying two ram sticks at the same Mhz and same C rating won't always be compatible with each other. There are ways you can manually adjust these ratings in your bios to force them to be compatible but why waste the time.. just buy ram in pairs. And if you want to upgrade, buy the exact same set so you know for sure they will be compatible with each other.

Game performs perfectly fine if your hardware is optimized properly. I've noticed this game is extremely picky on how well your hardware is optimized. My main is a Ryzen 2800x and Nvidia 1080ti and I'm able to run at ultra settings with a constant 100+fps with no noticable fps dips. So far I'm about 18 hours in the game.

I just found out why Hogwarts Legacy was crashing for me, Corrupt pak index detected on pak file: ../../../Phoenix/Content/Paks/pakchunk0-WindowsNoEditor.pak
This was using the magnet shared by Empress, patched the game using the 0 day patch xdelta and the game runs fine now

so after applying update 3 i just copy the crack again and it should work?
