As one who's playing the steam version (never buying another Denovu game again, just bought at launch because didn't know EMPRESS would be on it so fast), I can tell you that there are still major performance issues. Ray tracing is bugged as hell (even after all the updates) and even if you have 4000 series you cannot play this game with it, it's totally broke. I'm getting 20 fps with my 3080 sitting on 38% usage. Although crashes are rare for me, even without RT there are major performance issues and very frequent dips in frame rate and stuttering though there is some unofficial fixes to remedy that - set your shader cache size to 10 in Nvidia control panel and download Ascendio mod from nexus (most popular mod) that fits your version of the game. Other than that the point is that you don't need to be in pursuit of updates, because they don't do shit
