Apparently Ray Tracing is broken in this game. So, I recommend turn it off.

Other than that you’ll notice FPS drops here and there. Stuttering is fixed I guess.

Final verdict - Ray Tracing is a nightmare!

I prefer using Ascendio tbh, extra FPS boost and better visual adjustments, there is unnecessary fog effects in Hogsmeade and Hogwarts for instance

You may be hitting 125 FPS standing still in an empty hallway but start walking around and traverse the castle and let me know if the FPS stays that way. 😂 This game is an absolute mess optimization wise, to the point where weaker cards are somehow outperforming stronger ones anyway so this doesn't really prove your "3060 Ti is a 1440p card" argument anyway when the company that created it themselves did not advertise it as one.

I just found out something interesting

When I play on my 3060 laptop on an external monitor I actually get MORE frame drops and stutters. When I switch to the display on the laptop it runs like a dream even with the exact same settings, with the only difference being the resolution.

It’s weird because the monitor I use has a lower resolution than the laptop, at 1366x768 vs. 1080. My laptop does not have Optimus either, so theoretically it should be better on the monitor but it isn’t. Any ideas why?

Memory leaks, they literally just put a patch out fixing one of them. There was a patch released that specifically said: "Nvidia GPUs running worse than AMD." There are a lot of problems with the game. The game has to rebuild shaders every single time you launch it... why? Before they fixed it, it wasn't even building shaders at all. Some people who have the cracked version of the game can confirm this.

Its a disaster of a game currently in terms of performance. It is a fun and beautiful game but does not run well at all on a lot of machines.

Yeah, it shouldn't. I believe there are problems with how the game is utilizing the VRAM. It's not being efficient with the computer's resources currently, which is what's causing all of these problems.

It doesn't make sense to me why Hogwarts is struggling to run at 1440p on a RTX 3080, but when I play games like Returnal or Atomic Heart, it runs perfectly fine with no problems at all.

I figure I'll finally give up and ask for help. lol Been trying to get this to run on Linux (Not a Steam Deck I run arch) and right now where I think I'm stuck is an error in the output log "err:wldap32:DllMain No libldap support" But for the life of me I cannot find anything when searching for that DLL for wine/proton and I know I have both libldap and lib32-libldap installed. I get a new Hogwarts legacy folder
Now I am supposed to move it inside the game folder and then when prompted that there is similar files I should let it replace them

This way the old files are replaced by the new and the game is updated

you have copy content of hogwarts legacy update folder (few folders here) inside game folder

Open the new HGL folder. Copy Phoenix and engine. Go to your old HGL folder and paste/replace there. Then re apply crack

and they will be merged with simillar

Possible explanation for the driver issue for most people:

On the update 3 the Devs changed shader related PSO data and the caching is handled by the exe completely. When one updates the driver it hard-resets all the shader caches so the game needs to pre compile shaders. In this case the exe is looking for the shaders which were present in the files of day0 patch or empress crack but it didn't find them so it ignored the shader caching completely so it caused performance issues

Also this is the same reason why update 3 on empress version didn't have shader pre compiling the exe couldn't find the corresponding shaders it needed to precompile but they had no problems running it as most people ran the game at least once on the same driver so the driver used the cache to somehow render the effects

But when the version of driver or windows changes shader cache also gets hard reset hence bad performance

After I updated the Update 3 (from torrent linked above) and re-added the crack, I noticed that the game completely skips any shader preloading (it says build 1121649) and the performance is really unplayable - insane stutters... Is there any way to force the game to load new shaders or am I supposed to just redownload the 90 gigs all over again and just be stuck with the default unoptimized version?

*) Just make a new folder on your own Gdrive
*) then make a shortcut which you want to download
*) put that shortcut on that new folder you just made

Guys i have a problem with Hogwarts legacy with settings high it's nearly unplayable, settings low it's a lil bit playable but a lot of fps drops remains even though my PC setup runs perfectly with settings set on high Dying Light 2, Red Dead redemption 2, GTA V, God of War etc
Config : GTX 1660ti, i5 9400, 8G Ram

I try with RIDDICK and ElAmigos Release. I don't think it's due to a missing file.

Microsoft updated windows defender so now it false flags the crack on purpose, so you need to either disable it or put the game folder in the exceptions.
