Microsoft updated windows defender so now it false flags the crack on purpose, so you need to either disable it or put the game folder in the exceptions.

FOR ANYONE WITH "EMP.DLL NOT FOUND" ERROR:

Microsoft updated windows defender so now it false flags the crack on purpose, so you need to either disable it or put the game folder in the exceptions.

If you don't know how to do that, follow this to put it in the exceptions:

So, how is it for everyone with Update 4? Good thing I made a backup as for some reason, with update 4, the Map Chamber is completely bugged; cannot fast travel there or even go there physically in game with having the game crash to desktop...

It's the map chamber that is bugged with Update 4 it seems; I finished it with my backup that run with Update 3, then opened the game again with Update 4 after saving and it crash whenever, like I previously said, when I try to go to the Map Chamber.

Aren't the updates not real updates because everyone is using the modified early release binary? Or are the devs not making any changes to that file?

exe files changed with updates, using updates and empress crack is mixmatching files.

Not a single crash, no problems, finished the main story and 73% of the game on the update 3 with the crack

you are still mixmatching files, you can check the depot on steamdb and see the exe was changed with updates

This is why we need moderation in here. Update 4 significantly modified the EXE. 99% of your crashes are because you are using an old cracked EXE. It is strongly recommended to NOT use update 4 unless a new cracked EXE is provided (unlikely to happen - zero indication from Empress any new HL cracking is occurring)
