Since I applied update 4 the game is giving me texture loading and performance problems again (which I had removed by editing the engine.ini file which remained as I left it) and when I start the game it no longer downloads textures every time

Honestly too many people stressing about updates before even the first playthrough, just finish the game once with the current build that you have. Chances that u won't feel another playthrough, might uninstall then. If you're planning on playing it for 37378 hours risk an update, ofcourse have a backup beforehand

Even PS5 games nowadays force you to choose between RTX and frames. With games marketed based on video ads and trailers, companies are focusing on making pretty stuff and gameplay doesn’t matter (nor does hardware support).

On very high end settings it DOES run - I get 40fps on a 3090 with max RTX, mid settings should probably have good framerates

a lot of people complained about stutters and freezes all the time, especially on my 6600xt. i would use the vulkan api mod, but currently unsupported for my 6600xt. which sucks

It sucks because it seems like it’s partly due to lack of testing and optimization, e.g. HL has glaring memory leaks

yea, which are fixed in update 4 apparantly and I can kinda tell but update 4 cracks the game for me

Reminder people who use rtx card replace the latest dlss dll as many had an fps increase with that

I was able to fix my stutter issues with some engine.ini tweaks and a mod, but now it doesn’t seem to be playing nicely with sunshine/moonlight. Intermittent freezing
