The assassination missions in unity were pretty cool, the latest ac game doesn't even have assassination missions, in fact in most cases you can't even assassinate the bosses, even when attacking from ledges and stuff, it's ridiculous.

Yeah which took out the most important part of the game and its philosophy which was the one hit kill assassination... However valhalla gave you the choice to choose whether you one hit kill or not... But that doesn't make much sense tbh

even with a good pc, I ran settings to low, installed the Ascendio II.I - FPS Hotfix and Engine Tweaks for Hogwarts Legacy, and installed update 3 for HL, actually seems to run fine. I am using up at least 5-12 GB of memory, the crashes are for sure memory leaks. Keeping settings low and 1080p raytrace stuff off seems to help.

Denuvo is the scourge of gaming, I've been a gamer since the 90's, we used to copy floppies and give out to mates during the shareware days and beyond, it seems game developers have lost that culture along the way and basically make gamers buy thousands of dollars with of hardware periodically to just be able to run their DRM let alone the actual game. This is why I support this community. Until developers stop using this cancer that causes ewaste, I will not ever buy a game with denuvo implemented.

I have to say the difference in hogwarts legacy steam version compared to empress on old hardware ie 4790, rx 570 for example is night and day, on low settings using fsr 1.0 upscaled to 4k I was getting 10fps 1% lows and a max of 34 fps, empresses version 30fps 1% lows and 50-60fps average. You may not notice this as much on current hardware but old hardware that isn't officially supported like the 4790 it's huge. Runs great on my daughters 6700 as well, same card

Denuvo exists mostly because of publishers. It's also why I shy away from AAA games nowadays. Lack of creativity, high costs, pre-release DLCs

For everyone wondering, today i've sucessfully updated my Hogwarts Legacy from v1117238 (first EMPRESS crack version) to v1121649 (update 3). I did not download any other versions between. I made an duplication of my game on another ssd and applied the update to my second copy. everything worked so after that i've applied the update to my main/base build. I firstly copied the 36GB update 3 files to my game folders and reapplied the EMPRESS crack afterwards. i downloaded the update files from an earlier post (google drive) in the #General chat of this community and i got the crack files from gamedrive . org

After disabling V-sync and frame cap from both game and Nvidia control panel, performance did indeed significantly improve. I used the SLPF mod since it changes no graphical settings, but breaks the Razer Chroma SDK on purpose since it was making the game stutter like crazy, and disabled every security mitigation for hogwartslegacy in Windows Security's exploit protection panel under "Program settings", that nearly entirely stopped stuttering for a 12700k + RTX 3090

went from 50fps with everything on high and 30fps low
to 60fps stable on almost everything at ultra with 45fps low.

Also build 1 (v1117238) had a huge memory leak since my settings are almost maxed now and my ram usage went from 27GB to 18.5GB

For anyone that has steam deck, if you update your steam o/s or client you have to regenerate the grub file afterwards, was a dummy for not realising before as the grub files you edit were still present with the extra setting, but this doesn't generate and inject it into the boot sequence - the sudo update-grub and then the sudo shutdown now -r need to be run again, hope that helps someone

check ur mods folder, if its still there then you dont need
