I can't comment on the performance, since I wasn't able to play after the update, however, what I can say and was obvious immediately:
- The shader caching started at 98% for me, and finished quickly
- The loading of the game took waaaay less time, like in terms of minutes, not seconds
- When the game loaded at that spot, pre-update (with 1 . 0 . 1 . 6) I was getting ~100 FPS (not constant) and now I was getting ~ 115 (sometimes above that).

The caveat of this last one is I'm on a high-end PC ( with nVidia drivers 531.41) , thus it was pretty good at 1 . 0 . 1 . 6 as well ( tried 1 . 0 . 1 . 7, but it was worse for me)....

Anyway, I consider this type of games (3rd Person Single player) slow paced, and I don't require more than 60 FPS оn them, not that I don't like more, just I don't need more ...
Even when I could get 100+ with dips (1% and 0.1% lows) I would get gladly 90 stable (read 1% 90ish as well and 0.1% at 60 at the very least).

For me, the real FPS is the 0.1% lows, which is the indicator of stutters and inconsistencies ...
I'd take 65 AVRG FPS with 55 FPS 1% Low and 50 FPS 0.1% low rather than 110 AVRG FPS with 70 FPS 1% low and 23 FPS 0.1% low any day of the week.

That is why I'm using RTSS (Riva Tuner Statistics Serer) to limit the FPS for the Single player games to <WHATVER the HIGHEST FPS in Game> - 10 and it's rock solid for me .. Hence the numbers above - TLOU is capped at 90, and it stays pretty much all the time at these numbers...
Please, not that I don't use the driver limiter, nor the in game limiters - they both suck compared to the Frametimes and smoothens RTSS provides... big time! :)

Hope it will have positive impact for everyone, however ... they messed that one the moment they chose Iron Galaxy .. and it might take a lot of time to completely IRON (the irony) the issues for that company ... :)
