I prefer stuff made in proper packages like blender. A lot of source filmmaker stuff has telltale signs that you won't be able to ignore once you know what you're looking for.

In the grand scheme of things 41 hours spent on learning a software package isn't much at all you're going to have to keep going also I may suggest that you learn how to animate in 2D first before adding another layer of complexity.
