Me and my family left California about three months ago being the shittiest and costliest state in America. Moved to Florida after the hurricane hit being cheaper to live there and made it in time before the fires broke out in Los Angles, not that i lived in a nice area to begin with. Yeah all good, no worries. The point I was trying to make is that it is stressful, regardless of whether you are confident in winning or not because it all depends on the judge at the end. You can make the best case and still lose. That is what makes it stressful... and personally I believe BM knows this, hence the reason he is using the system for it.

But most (if not all) of the people I have talked to said it was just wrong to put it at the back of a Video that is soooo long, about a completely different subject and to expect people to see it when it is not even timestamped or when you don't even tell people at the beginning that the end part exists.

I just popped here to link to this as I thought people might find interesting. I see though that people are already discussing a related issue upthread, so its even more relevent. I'll read the above in a moment. But just to explain this. There was a defamation case here. The losing party was ofrdered to pay costs. The costs went for assemetn and each side put in their arguments as to costs. They have now agreed the sum as to the costs themselves.. But now they are arguing about how much the losijg party should pay for the work done towards the assessment (which wasnt ultimately needed). Probably Even if Notch paid 300k, it is still a large amount of money. 700k + 350k + 700k (likely more) - 300k = 1.45 Million And that is not the final amount, as Karl said BM had higher costs for his own lawyer. However, as I see it, it is still open if the full amount of money (speaking about the cost of BM) has to be paid by Karl. I don't know if Karl already explained this. Also, I mean I don't have to say it but these costs, absolutely insane.

Prosecutors love cut-throat trials. You can just sit back and let each defendants' counsel do your job for you. But yes, you can cross examine the co-defendant. And just to be nerdy, "hostile witness" is the term applied when one of your own witnesses turns agaisnt you. If that happens, and the judge agrees they can be treated as hostile, then you can cross examine them to suggest they are not telling the truth. But that's only to descredit the evidence they are now giving. It isn't allowed to advance your own case. So basically the highest you can argue to the judge or jury is that they should be ignored.

so um, i've read through most of the chat and stuff, and i would absolutely be open to providing some insights here about some of the overall criticisms i've seen from people's videos. yes, including lus, and while he is, albeit a very brash individual, i have seen his stuff (for better or for worse). i've actually compiled a list of things i think might be good to cover in a second video. but, i think it's way too big to really fit in here, and to be honest i don't even know if it's something karl wants or thinks would be important. i'm open to dm'ing him privately so it doesn't obstruct the conversation here. i know a lot has already been said, but i fully understand how it might be a lot to process and organize over such a huge span of videos, messages, etc.. and while i myself can hold onto them for myself only, i am willing to try to offer some help if it could help in any way.

They get a loan of the recording and work from that. Theoretically the judge can insist on approving it before it's released. Transcripts though are really expensive. Aussie Courts, like English ones, don't use stenographers. The proceedings are recorded. Then if someone wants a transcript they approach an approved transcription provider. They get a loan of the recording and work from that. Theoretically the judge can insist on approving it before it's released. Transcripts though are really expensive. Yeah, it's scary dear. For some appeals you have to put in a transcript. But you can just ask for relevant bits. So it's imporant in the hearing to make a note of the timings of bits you might need if it all goes pear shaped.

A lot of the time we just have someone sitting behind us making a note. It's called 'outdoor clerking'. I did it for a solicitor's firm when I was at law school. You don't get paid a huge amount; you are just an unqualified schlub after all. But it's great experience hanging around with counsel and talking to the client. And the extra cash doesnt hurt. Case probably not worth appealing anyway. The cost has already got to a number where its so high it doesnt matter if another thousand dollars is added on. Its a number so high that you'll never pay it so you dont care anymore. Just like how much the US owes in its National Debt of over 150 trillion dollars. Queensland still has defamation per se. That is to say you can revcover general damages without showing actual loss. If you can also point to an actual quantifiable consequential loss you can be awared special damages. We've generally got rid of that here (E&W). Now you have to show "serious harm". That has to be on an evidential basis, they no longer assume the statement must have harmed you. You have to prove it.

Murder attracts a mandatory life sentence (or 'imprisonment during his majesty's pleasure' if you're under 18). But then they set a tariff. Which is the minimum time you must serve before you can apply for parole. And you are on licence for the rest of your life and subject to recall if you don't follow your licence conditions.

Defended on ground there couldnt be any IP in the photo as it wasnt sufficiently transformative of the subject matter. Don't know if that would have held up, but they backed off. Fuck copyright, all its done is allow corporations to horde intellectual property and make the way art and culture naturally evolve illegal. Think about how characters like sherlock holmes or robin hood or any of disneys early catalog have reached this higher lever of cultural understanding. Luckily I am actually from Wichita, Kansas, the air capital of the world. If I don’t get a job at Electronic Arts, or if they don’t offer enough, I will have options right there where I will be living with my mother. A friend from school just messaged me about a path to piloting there. Works as a backup.

My mate actually bought a plane! (Well, a 25% share in one). it was some very basic model. He was showing us the owner's manual. It was like you'd get with a video recorder. Started with diagrams showing all the bits. Litterally "3. Propellor; 4. Wings" etc. Can't help but think if you need that level of information you shouldnt be flying.

I would not be paying rent, plus the company where I would be working actually helps pay for it, and leases planes cheaper, and they even give you lump-sum bonus money when you reach piloting goals such as obtaining a new license. The company is called Textron. The only downside is that I would be living in America. And not just anywhere in America, but in the bible belt. Redneck hick-factory Kansas. Ugh.

It’s just a back-up. I like to have at least 10 layers of protection when I make these kinds of grand plans. I mean right now the main plan is: #1: Leave Japan next February. Probably on my birthday because I like to extend my birthday by doing that (left the UK on my birthday). #2: Stay with mother for about a year. Because I’m lazy. #3: Then apply at Electronic Arts in Melbourne. Obviously, I am not in control over whether Electronic Arts will be hiring, nor if they will pay enough. So backups are definitely necessary here. Also have to think of a reason I need to join specifically that EA out of all of them.

I won’t be revealing my motives to Electronic Arts (or any of the backup companies). But I do need to think of exactly what I will say. I can probably at least say that I am moving to Melbourne, so I am choosing between companies there, and then figure out why Electronic Arts won between those choices.

Well the way chambers are funded is that they take a percentage of our income. So if you have someone highly motivated to bring in a lot of cash in a short timescale that really helps chambers' cash flow. So it was mutually beneficial.

Not this one, but I've seen that one and like it as well. That reminded me of something I also did once (but now, reflecting on this, that was kinda risky 😅 ). I saw that the guy interviewing me was a young man and quite chill, so when he asked TheQuestionThatWeAllLoveSoMuch - "What is your greatest weakness?", I smiled and said "I have no weaknesses whatsoever and my greatest strength is truthfullness". No. Time runs from first date of publication. So if you don’t issue within 12 months from then you lose your chance.
