The comic is called Exogenesis. Inspired by the Exogenesis Symphony by Muse, especially part 2. The definition is(Noun): "Origin from external causes, as a disease."
The 'town'/'city' in the story, at least after the beginning part, is called Genesis. Definition of Genesis is: "The coming into being of something; the origin."
The main character I haven't decided the Gender of, but we'll be calling her/him Gen(In reference to Genesis).
Basically, without writing ENTIRE paragraphs explaining the beginning of the story..
The world, as far as the people knew it, ended. Millions upon Millions of people were shoved into huge underground safe-spots known as Havens. There were LOTS of these, with interconnected railways that connected to eachother.
Gen was but a baby when this all happened, so fast forward around 12-13 years. Gen has a genetic mutation that caused his/her right arm(Elbow Down) to appear mangled, claw-like/dragon-like/Lizard-Like. She/he was mocked and ridiculed for a long time but, eventually everyone got used to her/him and accepted him/her.
Fast forward a bit. BUNCH of people get sent in stasis pods to another facility during the nighttime, Gen witnesses this. Gen steals the head-scientists key(Do take note most Havens have specific functions(Mainly study/science, and other related stuff), with minor functions to help them survive as well), and heads over to one of the forbidden rooms in the building.
Gen finds an entire storage room, HUGE I might add, filled with pods attached to the walls, with tubing everywhere. Without really thinking, Gen runs over to the nearest pod, opens it up and starts dismantling it from the inside. Grabbing onto one of the big 'spikes'/'needles' on the left side of the pod, she/he tries to yank it off using both paws/hands. Only after a few moments of yanking does she/he realize that her/his arms have gone numb, and she can't feel anything. She/he looks down and see's that his/her arms are actually gone, with a panic she tries to run off from the needle-like appendage but its as if her paws/hands are still there, and GLUED, to the object.
A few painful moments later, the last part of her/him, her/his head, is 'sucked' into the machine. Do take note the way this happens is basically like sucking in data in some other anime's/movies, cubes, blue, etc etc etc.
AAAAND then we get to the meat of the story. Where she/he finally gets into the 'digital' world of Genesis. :p
... Thats all I have besides the ending. 😆;
