UPCOMING NON-APEX V-TUBER TOURNAMENTS!

Ex Albio's Annual Splatoon 2 Tournament (Nov. 20-21 @ 7pm JST)

He did this last year, too.

NijisanjiEN 'Ready, Set, CLASH!' Tournament (Nov. 22 @ 11am JST, Nov. 21 @ 6pm PT)

Based on their schedules, it seems this'll be a Mario Kart 8 DX competition).

Nijisanji(EN) CRAB GAME competition/collab (Nov. 13 @ 11am JST, Nov. 12 @ 6pm PT)

Not an official tournament or anything, but it's a knock-off of Squid Game which is inherently competitive. I put 'EN' in brackets because some list it in their schedules as EN while others don't, and Pomu implied that the other 30 lobby slots are open to members of other branches. I wouldn't be surprised to see members of ID and KR especially participating.

I haven't watched Bae's previous persona, but has she done a sponsored stream before? She's pretty damn good at it. She carried the conversation throughout, she knew how most things worked, she had facts and she even put a few hours into it beforehand to learn the game. Plus, she seemed genuinely excited for the game.

Not bashing Kronii, she seemed as prepared as any of the EN girls do for a random sponsored game. Bae just went above and beyond the norm, which was nice to see.

I didn't quite get that consensus or draw that conclusion, but it's Sunday night and I'm interested. Do go on.
I haven't watched any EN2 outside of collabs I will admit right now. Someone spoonfeed me too.
It's not just her boyfriends. The way the other girls treat her (and the way she reacts to them) sometimes seems to go beyond kayfabe. Off the top of my head:
- Kiara "talking to someone" after Council's debut
- This reaction to Ina chatting in one of her early drawing streams which goes well beyond spaghetti spilling and rivals Gura's "1, 2, 5". Despite actively laying the bait with her last message, Ina doesn't seem to do anything with the resulting brain melt.
- Gura's not-collab with her during the collab ban
- Everyone piling into her first karaoke

Then again, how old is Mumei? Without Shion and Haachama's forceful personality or company seniority, an age gap would produce a similar effect.
Since it seems nobody talking about it, here's new episode of Hololive horror HololiveERROR.
My favorite point is definitely Suisei appearance as a stuck up massive bitch. I bet she have a blast acting that out. Always love playing the villain that comet, and the role fit her like a gloves. That "What a nuisance..." at Sora is chilling, consider how much she respect Sora irl.
Late, but Botan as a fistfighting delinquent was also entertaining, considering how she grew up.

It's been a while and I don't want to find it, but I posted something similar a while back. I posited that she may be actually on the spectrum. Not in the joking way we say Pippa is exceptional, but for real.

My reasons for thinking so we're based on actual experience working with an autistic girl. She was a "diversity" hire at an old job of mine. Tons of similarities to the owl in how she acts but it was more how people treated her. We received an email from corporate with "handle with care" instructions. A list of things to do to help her cope and how to handle her with kid gloves. I had to call a meeting with everyone but her and read off the list to everyone else. The way people babied her and Mumei are extremely similar.

Again, it's a rrat. Be she screams autistic to me. Which would explain why her boyfriends all had to babysit her and why the other girls treat her so carefully.

Oh, we were joking, I see.

Not to waste space on one-liner answer, some thoughts on nijiEN:
I can’t bring myself to like anyone in gen3, excuse me, Ethyria.
Their interactions sure seem like they’ve know each other for a while. To the point of casually calling each other bitches. A different dynamic from previous two groups for sure, but not something pleasant to my palate. Also, Nina.
Lazulight and Obsydia have had the same dynamic as any other group that didn’t know each other beforehand. Something everyone is used to by this time. Ethyria is different. More clique-ish..? I dunno. Don’t like them so far.

Didn't at least half of the first two waves already know each other's roommates?

Okay, what in the actual the fuck?
I had to go check for myself, and it's real
That genuinely doesn't feel like it was scripted by a human being. For a second I thought they'd catch more shit in the Youtube comments, but then remembered it's Youtube comments, who are only upset when (un)funny influencer man tells them to, someone says a bad thing about something they like, or they see an underage singer get popular.

Elira and Pomu are best friends. Selen and Finana played together. Rosemi knew Pomu and Elira. The only true outlier was Petra. All 6 of them came together so I doubt it was difficult for them to start getting along. Reimu then joined who is good friends with Petra so even that doesn't stand up.

Millie and Enna have known each other since at least 2014 and live right next to each other. Elira hangs out with them IRL too. It also can't be understated just how massive Lyrica was on the V-Tuber scene so I think other members would've had a level of respect for her even if they didn't know her directly. Millie mentioned that she didn't speak to Reimu until after they auditioned (which I'm not sure is true) but now trusts her as much as Enna. So, as it stands, Nina is the only one who didn't know anyone else directly beforehand.

As for Ethyria, I can see why people don't like the dynamic, but I personally really enjoy the relationship particularly between Millie, Reimu, and Enna. I don't get a clique-ish impression at all, I just get a vibe that these people bond through REALLY ribbing each other and that's not something you typically see in the V-Tuber scene. They collab outside of Ethyria just as much if not more than internal collabs.

The onion will be holding a live concert on 1/28/22 titled "Aqua in Wonderland". Tickets will likely be available in the usual places. Lots of new merch. Support your local gamer maid! She even has a spoon set for the grandmas out there!
I start to really believe that there will be no 3rd HoloFes this December. 2nd Fes was announced by this time last year, but with Watame's and Suisei's last month, Holo Fantasy's this month, HoloStars' next month, and now Aqua's in January: I just don't see how the staff and management can fit a big event like Fes in. Last year nothing happen around this time at all, and the only thing after that was Bloom.
Maybe we'll get 3rd Fes sometime early or middle of 2022. I see it as a good thing. Let all member took their time with voice and dance training or for their individual/group passion instead of forcing all of them to comply to company yearly schedule. Maybe with this delay, ID or EN can join the next one, 🌈

Not only is Nene Amano streaming the Harvest Moon successor, but Tenma popped in. My vtubers are crossing over and not in just Hololive anymore.
