Inactive Richard "Lowtax" Kyanka - Deadbeat (emphasis on "Dead") founder of Something Awful, forced out of his own community, on his second divorce, stuck his dick in crazy, "Birth Giver"

It would have been the best case for SA forums becuase with a soulless corporate master there is a chance the Trannies and Tankies wouldn't have been able to take over. It would have been a neutered, pale shadow of its former self a la 4chan after its buy out, but it wouldnt' be what it is today.
First of all, if you think corporations would be anti-trans and anti-tankie, you haven't seen many modern day corporations then.

Secondly, maybe it's just a matter of my own dumb principles, but I'd rather have a website morph into a terrible but interesting and independent trainwreck, instead of a corporate owned and heavily monitored husk who has their history erased and their data siphoned out and sold to the highest bidder.

Lowtax revealed himself as a real piece of garbage over the past few years but seeing this actually made me sad because I’m still nostalgic for the era of the internet when SA was one of the must-see comedy sites. I never joined but spent a lot of time browsing the forums in the mid 00s. When I hear Lowtax I still think of that stupid Lemon Demon song about ebaums world where he comes in as the cool guy hero. Haven’t been on SA in years having heard what the userbase turned into but things from that era still pop into my head sometimes.

What makes me most sad though is thinking about his kids, because some of my favourite flash tub crap they did was when his daughter would narrate weird stories she made up. Knowing he ended up being a deadbeat and then killing himself is maybe not surprising but still shitty.

Like others have said, another nail in the this time literal coffin of the old internet.

Another legend have passed away.

And byuu's simps and local New Zealand farm haters still have no proofs that their precious idol is dead. What a fucking clown world, for fuck sake.

Anyway, RIP. Maybe suicide wasn't that bad option in Lowtax' case, who knows...

Rest in peace Lowtax, because you sure couldn't make yourself any peace in life. But, you were a legend, for a long while SA was one of the two biggest machines for dictating the culture, humor and memes of the internet, like the actual memes.

I like how the King of Goons suicides a bitter and hateful drug and sex addict, while Moot ditched his legacy for a Google job. This death feels symbolic of the decline of SA and not only its prestige, but its influence.

why'd you do it dyn
When he first joined this forum and people started sucking up to him I said he wasn't all that and a bag of chips and he said I was just putting on an ironic fake-detachment and pretending not to care.

Nobody gets away with saying I care about things on the internet. Nobody. Even if I have to dedicate my life to getting revenge, even if I have to wait six fucking years and catch them in a courthouse parking lot and force a gun into their mouth I'll fucking do it. That's how much I don't care.

Holyshit, didn't think the madlad actually pulled the trigger

How you accidentally made the connection that chronic incurable pain leads to painkillers leads to addiction leading to the now ongoing opioid epidemic, and then laughed it off as an absurd gotcha instead of realizing yes, thats how it works, beats the fuck out of me
My spine and neck are made out of cornflakes doctor, please give me massive painkillers.
Sure thing young man, my son if a fan of your homily website.
Buys a GT-R.

Gotta remind the kids that Dad didn't say goodbye or 'I love you' when you're breaking the news of his suicide.
That's fine, not for him, but he's dead. As for his kids, well his wife's a cunt and I don't doubt she'll raise some terrible kids. One way or the other they'll go online and become documented all over again.

Jeff enabled Richard by buying the site
Jeff and all the mods enabled Richard by deleting posts about the police reports, banning users who talked about it, parroting the stories Lowtax told, and doing all of the grunt work necessary to keep a website like that running. The only reason he could afford to sit back with his $20,000 box wine and ambien is because he had a staff of mouthbreathing sycophants doing all of his work for no pay. They knew he was an addict wife beater deadbeat dad for years and still continued to slavishly support him.
