General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I was looking through Kaito's clips, since @Scuttle mentioned he graduated, and his Youtube and Twitter are already wiped. I wanna say this probably confirms him, Tora, and makes anyone graduating in the next 20-30 days a potential candidate, but his Twitch is still up with only the graduation stream up. It makes me feel unsure about this; normally wiping everything out seems like standard opsec when you're picked up by a company, but if that were the case, wouldn't it be noticeable that he missed this?
He's still probably really likely, it's just a weird inconsistency. I haven't watched it yet, so for all I know maybe he goes into more detail there.

I'm pretty sure Shannon kept her graduation stream up for a little while and Lyrica and Selen STILL have theirs available, so I don't think there's a universal rule on how they OpSec. Some fans late to the party may come back and wonder why their fave dogboy has vanished.

Malding Diet Koefficient.
He's way better at producing V-Tuber stuff than Koe. He gives every individual Holomen hour-long research videos, but also does research/discovery videos of Holostars, Indies, Nijisanji, PC, PRISM, and is good friends with VSHOJO.

All Koe does is do YLYL videos and every time the video will end at the first Miko clip. It's impressive that someone can make reaction videos that eye-rollingly predictable. The clips that Koe watches get vetted by his Discord mods and they know he's only ever really likely to laugh at Hololive because that's all he knows, which is why his reaction vids almost never feature anything else.

I'd say 'he should stick to fighting games' but there's fuck all being released right now.

Mori just confirmed it, Myth gets new costumes next month. Unless cover fucks it up again lol.
I don't get why they needed to delay the costumes in the first place. They are VIRTUAL youtubers. They don't have to be in the same room, and the people doing the modeling for the costumes can do it fine from home. What the fuck did covid have to do with the costumes. Seems like an excuse to me. I don't know why they would need an excuse. But it sounds like bullshit. I don't know maybe an artist quit.

Best-case scenario is that they're using COVID as an excuse to veil the fact that Shun Umiushi isn't working on Gura any longer. If he's still responsible for Gura's next outfit then any and all cries of Nepotism anywhere but there is misguided.

Is nepotism really that bad?
In terms of equal opportunities, yes.

But Nepotism/Cronyism also implies that the person SOLELY gets a job position due to who they know and aren't necessarily qualified. I don't think any Niji or Holo is unqualified to be a standalone entertainer.

It's also worth keeping in mind that this thread is, like, one of a small handful of places who knows anything about anything. Discord, YouTube, and Reddit still actively discourage talk of past lives so your average fan does not know that Pomu and Elira used to be friends, or that Kronii and Sana are Ina's friends. It's just us autists. How well they 'hide' it is kind of immaterial given that the parties interested will find out regardless, and the parties uninterested will never know. The average V-Tuber fan doesn't even know Tora existed, never mind his extensive history and friendship circle.

The algorithm flushed a rare Anya clip in my timeline, happens once every blood moon: Rating pickup lines from chat
"GWS means Get Well Soon. I may be wrong but the concept comes from "Halu" coming from the English word "Hallucinating". Chat is suffering from a sickness of being "Halu" or delusional and she hopes that you "GWS" or get well soon."

Nepotism is bad when you have to put up with the boss' incompetent kids fucking everything up and you cant complain about them
Telling your boss you know someone with similar talents who would be interested is fine. Especially when one of the most desirable traits for the job is getting along with the others and not causing drama

I feel like there's some confusion here - When Calli referred to "new costumes" definitely happening next month, she's talking about the new live2D outfits that were announced back in september for HoloMyth's one year anniversary. As far as I'm aware, COVID has never been officially used by management or the girls themselves to explain the delay for those outfits. COVID has been used to explain why HoloEn hasn't been in 3D yet.

Ah, fair enough.

Still, I hope the reason for the delay is that Cover have finally listened to the fans hating Gura's rig and decided to move away from him. If not, hoo boy...

The silver lining of the 3D delays is that all of the models are ready to go, they just need to wait for the talents (EN+ID) to arrive in Japan (fucking Japanese bureaucracy, I swear to God)

Compared to the Cover a year ago, that's a big improvement. Still a big W for ID to finally receive a 3D model after all this time

In other news, Iofi is back ("Long time no see"):
Edit for reference: She was hospitalised, didn't share details other than complaining about the food and pivoting to a discussion about vegetarian meat.
