I don't get why they needed to delay the costumes in the first place. They are VIRTUAL youtubers. They don't have to be in the same room, and the people doing the modeling for the costumes can do it fine from home. What the fuck did covid have to do with the costumes. Seems like an excuse to me. I don't know why they would need an excuse. But it sounds like bullshit. I don't know maybe an artist quit.
Maybe the delay for the 2D stuff is that Gura's new outfit was trash yet again and they decided to QC and do something about it this time. I don't know how they can keep bringing back that rigger when he's done horrible jobs on multiple occasions now. And Cover letting that fly on their biggest (by subscriber) talent is equally baffling. We can only hope it is done well this time, because if it is horribly rigged again there might be a mutiny on reddit and twitter.
As others have said for the 3D, it is ready but they just can't get into Japan to do it. Calli could since she's there but I'm sure she'd feel bad to use it when the others can't, and they probably want to debut together as well. I can imagine the tears will flow for both them and fans when they finally get to meet IRL.
Best-case scenario is that they're using COVID as an excuse to veil the fact that Shun Umiushi isn't working on Gura any longer. If he's still responsible for Gura's next outfit then any and all cries of Nepotism anywhere but there is misguided.
Hopefully he isn't with how bad Gura and Anya's latest models were. Is he related to someone there and that is why he keeps getting second and third chances?
Talking a bit about Kiara/Keeki, I kind of stumbled into the issues with her but have backed off some recently. When I first started watching vTubers I didn't know any roomate/rrat info, but even so she was my least favorite Myth. The shrill Kiara voice, constant swearing (yeah I don't really watch Calli either and Ame is borderline some days), bottom-left/potty humor that she played into, and possibly most annoying the forced TakaMori crap drove me away quickly. As I found some of the surface level Keeki drama it kind of fed into it more, but then as I learned some of the really deep stuff and crap she's gone through, I kind have turned around. I still don't watch her streams for mostly the same reasons, but have a bit more respect for her and try not to dump on her too much. She's climbed her way back and in a good place now, hopefully she can appreciate it for what it is and not get too hung up on numbers. It seems kind of silly even since she is one of the top SC earners in EN, only second to Calli I think (which also confuses me, but I guess it is the type of fans they draw). I do appreciate that she tends to be the one who talks about behind-the-scenes stuff the most and gives us a glimpse into that side of things.
