Where did Lily get the idea that restricting capitalism and destroying it are the same thing? Literally only a social democrat would say that (and I think Lily qualifies as such, having described herself as a "quasi-socialist") to leech off of the slow but steady destigmatization of the word "socialism" by people who probably don't fully understand it.
A desire to "restrict and regulate capitalism" makes you a social democrat (ex. AOC, Bernie Sanders). A desire to "dismantle and replace capitalism" makes you a socialist, and by extension a communist since, make no mistake, socialism was originally intended to be a gateway into communism.
The thing is, capitalism's problems are pretty inherent, and no amount of programs and benefits would stop it from eventually collapsing and killing all the poor people in the process.
Lily, I do not "ultimately want the same thing" as a social democrat. They are not allies to socialism, they are opponents. Their "good points" are bare-bones obvious things like "nobody should be killed for being gay" and "schoolchildren shouldn't go hungry because their parents can't afford lunch", but their solutions are either useless hashtags or policies that amount to band-aids over broken bones. Their goal is "more of the same, but with a happy face painted on it". They're closer to conservatives than actual leftists.

Could possibly be Patch? Since Patch was one of ToonKritic's victims, if I recall, and Lily made a whole deal about protecting them, but then kicked them out of their server when they started acting too much like Lily, ironically.

I believe she hared receipts of an image they drew for Lily depicting her avatar getting fucked by some dogs, but I don't think anything really came of it. Well, besides some of us call her a zoophile sometimes, I guess.

Look man, I have issues with TOH, but I don't want to sperg about it more than necessary - just let me say that I don't think Amity is a well established character. Still, it's too much to say that there is nothing more to her than just gay panic and shipping. Or that her overwhelming parents are just a 'plot device' without any impact on the character itself, just Luz. Or that she's just an obstacle for Luz (if anything, Luz is an obstacle for Amity). She is an obstacle to Luz nowb because she is one of the reasons Luz is conflict over leaving The Boiling Isle.
It's extremely short sighted to boil the entire show down to just sapphic, underage romance... There's mamy more themes going on.

Amity is a character that is expected by her parents to excel and become successful. She lives in the constant pressure to over-perform, never make mistakes, keep a good reputation and, most relevantly, never show weakness. She's shown (albeit poorly in my opinion) to maintain her performance trough hard work (her practicing using a wand in the forest (the wand is never shown to be used in the universe before or after)) and sacrifice (ending her friendship with Willow). Then this human shmuck comes around and achieves everything she workedbso long and so hard for, with barely any effort! Thus making all her practice and sacrifices for nothing.
Amity had to deal with that
Her character arc is that she learns to make decisions that don't benefit only her career, show vulnerability and express her emotions and morals. The importance to admit when she makes mistakes and make up for it. All things that her parents taught her and affect Amity greatly.
The only things she has been shown to do for her own enjoyment was reading them Harry Potter knock-offs and read to children in the library.

The way the show goes she's being hyped up to be a coven leader in the future, so why not teach her how to be a good leader?

In her last video Lily sung high praises about how the show handles Raine. For not being just the token enby, but for having ambitions and a agency outside of being Eda's love interest. Why not extend the same way of thought for Amity?

To insist that people who are drawn to a ship containing a white character are racist is just all kind of retarded. I won't go into that now, maybe when the video comes out.

Although I do like it when she posts excerpts of her analysis' because it's easier to point out her hypocrisy that fish it out from her verbal intestines.

As for the anime thing ... what exactly does she mean by being ''deep''? (I mean .. the example she provides is Utena, for being progressive. Yet a good chunk of her channel is her wanting shows to be more progressive in a way that she favors of course)

Are the examples for most popular anime's she's thinking about Dragon Ball and Magical girl shows? Because the most praised anime's, to and from people that don't watch a lot of anime like me, that I hear about is stuff like Ghibli, Akira, Satoshi Kon films, Cowboy Bepop, Wolf's Rain, Evangelion ect. Shows that have very distinct personality and good, memorable execution.

Good writing is good writing yo, no mater the country it was written in. You'd think that someone that puts so much empathis on writing would understand this.

She doesn't really understand most things beyond vague stereotypes. She doesn't really know why people like anime or why people prefer anime over cartoons. She understands western fandom and all the inside jokes and cringe compilations made about anime. But she doesn't really understand how some people can enjoy anime as a medium and still be well-adjusted. It's just easier to think of them as drooling consumers.

So when people tell her that movies like Jin-Roh or Ghost in the Shell are legitimate pieces of art with things to say, all she hears are neckbeards gushing over Kill la Kill and Darling in the Franx. In reality, people are complex, and can enjoy stupid things because they like the style or it speaks to them on a personal level.
There's nothing wrong with Lily just not liking anime, there's plenty of reasons of not to. But refusing to acknowledge anime as anything other than consumer trash just says to me that she's projecting. Her tastes and frame of reference are incredibly shallow and based on conjecture, so that must apply to everyone else's tastes.

It's easier to tear down than build up.

People like Lily don't have fulfilling lives. I know this is the common 'you just jelly' argument, but legitimately she doesn't. She's admitted to being a shut-in. She doesn't seem to have any acquaintances in real life and most of her online friendships crumble because of her own attitude. She has no desire to better herself or her life. She doesn't contribute to society but still expects society to contribute to her. She doesn't enrich anybody else's life, and nobody enriches hers. Even in the week of her marriage she said fuck all about the ceremony and spent most of the time getting in pissing contests with Anons.

There's no doubt in my mind that she is fundamentally miserable, and refuses to look inward for the answer. And that's understandable. Self-assessment is difficult, scary, and unflattering. Recognizing your own flaws and making yourself a better person is hard. Lily herself has acknowledged that change is hard (when she blames abuse victims for not getting out of toxic relationships because of complacency). But if you aren't willing to put in the work, how do you fix things?

You don't.

You reach out and rip down everything else. People like Lily don't believe in personal improvement and uplifting; they believe in dragging everybody else down. It's hard to make yourself better and easy to pick apart, insult, and belittle other people with broad stereotypes and wildly unfair accusations. She refuses to think about other arguments about anything she does because it means she was wrong and somebody else was right and reassessment is scary so THEY have to not only be wrong, but have evil, malicious intentions. This is why every one of her ex-friends inexplicably becomes not only a bad person, but an abuser, a bigot, a Nazi, a transphobe, a homophobe, and if you're lucky, an it.

To be generous, it's a defense mechanism, because the instant you get your head out of your ass and actually assess your own actions and think beyond yourself and about other people, you realize how terrible you are and have been. And that's unbearable. So you have to double and triple and quadruple down. Everybody around you must be a worse and worse person to justify your own abhorrent treatment of them. And once you've stripped away the concept of human dignity from people, well, of course you're superior to them, because you're still human -- a better human -- and they are not.

You can even see it in how she writes characters. Her characters are miserable people with virtually no redeeming qualities, and instead of acknowledging that these are flaws to be overcome she just makes everybody else worse and worse, because it's easier to drag them down than build hers up. Normally I don't put so much weight into how art reflects an artist (using the terms relatively here), but Lily's works are so steeped in this, and she takes any real criticism so personally, and it's such a reflection of how she treats people overall that it's difficult not to use it as a reflection of how she sees herself and her interactions with the world.

That's what it comes down to. An unfulfilled, desperate bid at feeling better without actually DOING better. She has to be smug; otherwise she would have to actually look at herself.
