This is my take on pretty much every one of the close friendships that have developed between the girls. Gura and Callie, for example, are probably my favorite pair to watch, because they seem completely and totally relaxed together. Callie's more willing to discuss subjects with Gura that she gets embarrassed about in solo streams, even though the same chat of easily excited perverts and gawkers is right there. Gura for her part seems to drop into her natural vocal register and be totally candid about anything unless she can mess with Callie by feigning ignorance. It's endearing and adorable, and it warms my heart to hear them so comfortable with each other. That's just one example of many in Hololive and Nijisanji, and of two people who didn't come in already friends.

Vshitjo vs Nux fiasco is still dragging on huh? Now imagine a worst-case scenario. let's say a random innocent indie vtuber accidentally gets killed from a police raid. The victim's family finds out Vshojo knew about the doxx swatting and never made a public warning about it (Who cares about human responsibility...right?). The victim's family sues the shit out of Vshojo (I'ts the U.S. everybody finds a way to sue you) .

Something like this actually happened in real life about a cargo ship and the somali pirates. Long story short, the captain got an e-mail warning to stay away from the pirates and take a different route. Captian ignores the warning and takes the shortcut to save fuel, cargo ship gets fucked by the somali pirates. The victims survive and then a Hollywood movie starring Tom Hanks comes out (I forgot the name). The crew victims find out the truth and sued the captain.

the family can sue but theyd lack standing since its was their kid giving the phishers the info. plus side is that out of court settlements are pretty usual nowadays.

Does anyone know what stuff you need to buy and use to be a vtuber?

Unless you want to be a PNGtuber, you need a VR rig or a camera to capture your facial expressions and movements and stuff. Depending on how much movement you wanna capture, this can be somewhat cheap or enormously expensive. The budget option typically involves just using a webcam.

Good lighting also doesn't hurt. You also need software to make this actually work (Wakaru and Facerig are the typical budget options). There's a more comprehensive list here.

As for models, you have a choice of 3D or Live2D. 3D is probably the easier and cheaper option, but Live2D imo usually looks nicer. Live2D also basically requires the VR rig from what I know, while a 3D model can get away with camera capture.

If you ever saw some indie with a 3D model that keeps spazzing out and clipping and stuff, they're probably using a camera setup and a cheap model. My oshi (a tiny indie on Twitch) has this sorta setup.

As for how much this costs, depends on how nice a setup you want. A cheap webcam and a self made 3D model cost basically nothing, while a fully rigged Live2D can cost thousands of dollars. Sky's the limit really when it comes to equipment, but I'd wager your average Live2D tuber uses a VR rig with hand capture.

This is by no means comprehensive, if you're seriously interested do some research.

I made a tweet that riled people up.
I wish no ill will upon Nux either.

More importantly I will reflect.
To my community, I am sorry I put you in an awkward position.
I will never do so again.
I never try to get involved in things like this.
But they are my friends and I love them.
Was it right to jump in.
I felt and saw my friends being harassed by members of a community.
So yes, I had to.
Could it have been handled better?
I don’t know. A lot of things have happened and many things are unknown. But we are all here now.
Wanting to move forward. Which is what I’ll be doing.

Idk if that pov has any revelance to the situation. I doubt the Japanese university researcher is going to argue how this is bad for the world but more so how its bad for Japan.
