There's a few reasons we don't see much about the surgeries - which I'll spoiler for length.
1. If it's a matter of size alone it's unlikely it's covered by insurance or whatever government program.
2. Every case is different. For those who can afford to pay out of pocket there's several options.
The first is a device inserted surgically that increases size, but doesn't add any tissue in the way the ftm bottom surgery does. This can be used to treat smaller penises in general.
Another surgically treatable condition is a buried penis, which can have a few different causes. Sometimes it's caused by abnormal ligament shortening, extra skin, scarring, or excess fat. For ligament shortening and internal issues like that surgeons can perform a surgery so that the ligaments release the buried structure. Or they can stitch things to attach it properly. Extra skin and fat can be fixed with lipo, panniculectomy, or a combination of lipo + panniculectomy + abdominoplasty. The main thing here is that the person has a normal sized penis, it's just buried for one of those reasons.
For true micropenises options are more limited because there is so little tissue. It's been discussed in this thread a few times but the functionality of the penis comes from its structures: the corpus cavernosum and corpus spongiosum. The corpus cavernosum run side by side and fill with blood when the penis is erect. The corpus spongiosum runs along the bottom and fills with blood when erect, and plays an important role by keeping the urethra open.
Replicating the structure and function of these tissues is not really possible with our current knowledge and technology, hence our failures at ftm surgeries and difficulties helping with micropenises. Usually a micropenis is detected very early and caused by a hormonal imbalance so testosterone can fix it. But, if that doesn't work, surgery can be performed.
I've seen a few different methods used with varying success.
Sliding and deconstructive elongation, where they deglove and disect the penis and essentially pull it as far as nerves will allow and then they insert a prosthetic.
Then there's a dorsal flap advancement and a flap reconstruction.
There's nonsurgical stretchers and shit that have some evidence of working, especially if combined with surgery. I find the fat grafting to the shaft the weirdest. Theres also other injectables - juvederm and the like for added bulk. It adds girth and just like the fat the extra weight has a stretching effect. Each has risks and doesn't have the greatest satisfaction ratings. Prosthetics stay longest. The ligament releases have the best look but have some issues with function during sex because that's the ligament that gives it stability. Plus all of these risk damaging nerves. Or damaging blood vessels which can have pretty catastrophic effects.
When it comes to complex cases of reconstruction due to trauma the methods are extremely varied. Usually, there is some tissue that can be used. But they do rely on full or split thickness grafts similar to what we see with the ftm surgeries. They try to use buccal grafts for the urethra since its hairless and resistant to infection. There are flap methods, which I have seen here for ftms as well. In general, the outcomes can be pretty decent. Especially if there is any erectile tissue left, they can work with that and make something pretty decent. It will never be the same, and it's obviously not a regular penis when seen - but the level of care given surpasses these GRS butchers. The results are better because it is multistaged and usually has a team of surgeons involved. It's a long process but worth it to restore a sense of normalcy and basic function.
