> Dehumanized black athletes
Uhh, what? So being portrayed as a video game character is dehumanizing now? Rather than being seen as a hero/protagonist/my guys, etc. Unless he means literally dehumanized, as in "no longer human", because it's pixels on a screen? Nah, I'm sure he's really that brain-dead, and thinks that being immortalized as a video game character is a BAD THING because reasons. (Quick, someone alert Mike Tyson, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, and Dr. J.)
> Digital plantation
Not sure which is funnier: the idea that moving video game characters around is Literal Slavery, or the idea that the real life NFL is Literal Slavery. Guess I missed that part in American History class, when all the slaves had multi-million contracts, endorsement deals, etc.
> [Madden] grew the NFL into the most popular game
Whoa, really? All by himself? That's strange, I thought maybe it had something to do with the hundreds of players & coaches on dozens of teams, the leadership of various Commissioners over the decades, and all that advertising & sponsorship revenue. And oh yeah, the literal millions of fans who tune in - many of whom were watching other broadcasts that John Madden wasn't involved with.
> How many concussions could we have prevented
He seems to think playing video game football is somehow linked to concussions? I mean, maybe if someone beats you over the head with the controller... but this guy seems rather unhinged.
