Perhaps I’m old fashioned, but I think reaching out privately to offer condolences over a loss this great is probably the best way to approach such a situation, especially if you had a working relationship with the bereaved.
But if you don't offer your condolences publicly, how will random people see what a virtuous and good person you are?

also ERod's been very much a snake during #CTC. From admitting he suffered no abuse to flipflopping and calling Doug Walker an 'emotional abuser'. I don't think Doug should give any statement, public or private unless pressed, because I can totally see ERod flipping a narrative on Doug sending a private message of condolence.

That's why he should do it publicly. When somebody close to a colleague dies you give your condolences even if there was a falling out. That's more a commentary on what you meant to each other or based on the person who died. It doesn't mean you're now friends and it doesn't mean what happened before is forgiven. It means you're the bigger man. Or at least that's what I would have done in Doug's place. Fuck what others think or say.

That's all Twatter is. It's people showing how in line they are with something. It's a 30 second bit of bullshit that is equal to signing "have a great summer" in somebody's yearbook because you don't know them well enough to write an actual message.

A real friend would have dropped everything, flown down to Florida or wherever E-Rod is and helped the guy with funeral arrangements and just to be there for him. Get him out of the apartment and be a real friend. These Channel Autism alums are only dropping him a message and that's it. Do you think Uncle Linky or Granny Lupa is going to spend time with E-Rod? Of course not. They don't even like him. But they need to pretend like they do as solidarity against Doug.

Fucking hell. Making fun of the dude for making shit content.... But nobody deserves to have their spouse die.

Fuckin' F to pay respects.

And then get back to poking fun at his dogshit content.
Not even hitler? osamer? Next level simpin

Honestly, if they do that its gonna be some disgusting shit and low stuff, even for them.

I don't think they will try especially hard. Ask yourself, do you think these snakes in the grass, liars, and avid self-promoters would ever get out of their way to do more than simple platitudes? When Spoony was death-spiraling, only Angry Joe offered to drop everything and drive to his place and help him.

No no, I think E-Rod will be crying in the corner and wondering why, beyond simple 'thoughts and prayers', they did nothing.

I don't have enough compassion in my heart to feel bad when bad things happen to shitty people.

Even if you don't like E-Rod, Marsha herself didn't do anything wrong. I personally feel sorry for both of them, even if they are part of CTC crew, Eric didn't do anything too awful to Doug. He made a videos giving his opinion, and that's it. He never lead a grand war against Channel Awesome, nor was he the loudest voice in CTC movement.
