Fucking journalists man, I swear.

Imma reserve judgement till we hear what Nicki Minaj thinks.

China claiming Taiwan leads to more trade war complications

China already claims Taiwan, they just haven't taken possession yet. It'll be bumpy when they do, but there's nothing the outside world can do to stop it and doubtful the Taiwanese are prepared to offer more than token resistance (military service on the island is a joke, these are not people who give the impression they're prepared to fight to the last ditch for their homeland). China is US trade partner Numbah Wun and Taiwan is #11 - you can see where this is going.

Love the US response there "no you can't call soldiers peace keepers", suprised they could keep a straight face.

Yeah. Not that it changes the fact the Russian government are criminal assholes led by the Slavic Tony Soprano, but being lectured by the US government at this point is like being scolded about your dietary habits by Jeffrey Dahmer. The emperor is not only butt naked, he's drooling with senility and can barely restrain himself from dry humping any child unlucky enough to get too close.

Called this one wrong, I really thought Putin was just muscling for concessions.

Me too. I still don't think there will be a legit war, unless this gets badly out of hand. I think Putin probably was angling for concessions, got tired of holding his dick, and for whatever reason the Kremlin thinks this is better than nothing. They'll probably come to regret it. From the outside this looks like a dumb move, so it probably is dumb, tho we don't actually know what went on in the various diplomatic talks/posturing and it's unlikely CNN/BBC/Russia Today would tell the full story even if they knew it.

Tik Tok videos showing a large amount of American troops in Zamość, Poland, about 30 miles from the Ukrainian border, this might be all the equipment that's been getting flown into nearby airports over the past few weeks.
Thats the stuff the local polish have stolen over the last weeks...

Dunno if this has already been posted, but:

Because KF is a better news site than actual news sites (aside from the Babylon Bee), I feel the need to ask: what's the actual state of play RN? Is this invasion them moving into Dontesk and Luhansk and the west sperging out about it a day later, or have they gone beyond that into previously undisputed parts of Ukraine?

there is no invasion of ukraine at all, russia just moved assets into 2 new countries between russia and ukraine.

the USSR Russia Has 75% of their military forces surrounding ukraine's northern, eastern, western and southern borders. they moved 10,000 """peacekeepers""""" into the contested territory last night. 70% of the land that russia recognized as independent is still controlled by Ukraine, so to achieve their stated goals they will have to go to war with Ukraine.

Russia has:
-recognized donetsk and luhansk as independent states *in their full borders including the 2/3rds controlled by Ukraine currently*
- Russian army units have moved into the rebel republics
- Russia's parliament has approved the use of Russian forces "abroad" (nominally it was to allow their use in donetsk/luhansk, but the actual wording allows their use anywhere internationally)
- putin says Ukraine always was always will be sacred Russian clay
- if formally breaking off donetsk was the play, Russia has maintained forces sufficient to protect them for the last many years in case Ukraine tried anything
- instead they've massed 75% of their army and close to 100% of their naval invasion capability next to Ukraine
- hence why I think they are going for the prize, just waiting for forces to reach their positions inside the donetsk/luhansk
- I'm sad to say this does mean the release of Stalker 2 is likely delayed
