Yeah americans without the ability to call in 8000lb bombs are pretty weak.

Without a doubt our boys wonr be able to call in support like afghanistan or iraq. Russia will likely have the skies contested.

Our army is based on a huge flaw of support. If that support isnt there....well..meh. i served and i know. They would bomb 20 houses because a shot came from that direction (and then strafe it all with apaches)

With the exception of the marines...most of the guys in the army i knew were just around for the paycheck and college. Marines on the otherhand are crazy. They like killing. Never fuck with those guys they are all physcopaths

The USA would definitely be able to bring more direct fire onto any given point; but the Russians have an absolute obsession with self propelled guns, field guns, and much larger - and consequently unwieldy - groups of fire support and armour. So they'd probably have a much greater breadth of fire than what America could bring with the more air mobile force. Not sure they'd be able to reliably contest the air though; their anti-air modernisation hasn't really panned out IIRC and the Russian airforce is straight up outclassed and outgunned.

Forget the fact that Russia has powerful AA systems. If they didn't have that what is the USA going to do? Are they going to bomb Ukrainian towns and cities to get the Russians? That wouldn't work out so well since their are still civilians everywhere.

If we rule the air and fight and night we will be fine. If we have those 2 things we are unstoppable.

But without support we are not that good man. Artillery is alright we can drop a 155 in a bucket from 30 miles away but so can Russia. Im telling you ive seen more often than not people just wait for airstrikes before even sticking their head over a wall. Its easier that way. No one serouisly wants to die for their country and that might be an issue in a big war like a ww3. Everyone enjoys life a bit too much for heroic shit

It sounds like good old fashioned WW1 "Drip Rifles" would cause the U.S. army to waste millions of dollars of equipment and fuel.

Its not a stretch to say we scorth the earth when attacked. The situation often devolves into high school hearsay and talk about "i saw a guy doing such and such" when no guy ever existed. Its just stress and emotions

also onlinebro who claims to be in Ukraine puts the situation as basically the same as yesterday, the forces were mostly already there. Russia could seriously invade everywhere at any moment, but not really any _more_ than any other given point in the past umpteen hundered years.
