SU-24s are still frontline ground attack aircraft in Russian service, though yeah they're pretty fucked as in Syria and Donbass '14 they got taken out by mere SA-7 Iglas

If there is anything that is certain it's that the U.S. will gladly go back on its word to an ally. All the way back to the Iroquois, the South Vietnamese, and every abandoned color revolution in LatAm and the Middle East. If I was Taiwan, South Korea, or Japan I'd be looking into making sure that I can actually defend my soil rather than rely upon the "diversity is our greatest strength" military.
