Feel bad for the average Ukrainian, millions caught up in the middle of political jostling from rival superpowers.

I don't think the west will do anything meaningful and it will be a massive shock for a lot of people. It's all well and good going around kicking random Arabs in the shins in the name of democracy but when another big kid slaps someone across the face you have to sit in the corner mumbling about sanctions. Realpolitik hitting a lot of people pretty hard right now.
