My Russian friend doesnt recognize the star marking on the vehicle. But she's a woman (biological) so take that with a grain of salt.
It might mean a guards unit, since they tend to carry a lot of symbology from the USSR, and would support my theory that the Z group is a guards motor-rifle brigade, but don't take that as a certainty.

According to the BBC they've trained 22,000 Ukranian troops since 2015, I don't think that includes naval.
Ukraine pretty much abandoned their naval force 12-15 years ago.

At one point, their navy was formidable relative to the size of the nation and their ocean territory

The same goes for their Air Force.

Their land forces are imposing however.

I would say yes but Russia has air superiority. If anything I am probably seeing bloody asymmetrical warfare ie bloody street fighting.m
So I guess we're going to see a good amount of asymmetrical warfare and urban combat. If you are in Ukraine fighting for Ukraine or Russia send us pictures gore works too just use spoilers.
Would the Russians themselves be okay with bombing their own cities to flush out the Ukrainian APC speeding from street to street and running over their domestic police?

If the Ukrainians hijack civilian vehicles and start shooting at Russian police officers, would that be an acceptable political position for the Russians to be in?

"Yeah we started a war at our border and now there's a group of Ukrainians looting a supermarket in St Petersburg. Woops."

RT did a documentary on them. They seemed content with their new lives in Russia but honestly who the fuck knows. Probably were discriminated against like they were in the US
its also possible that russians treated them disproportionately well.
so they can be all like, "oh these poor black people, is this how america treated you."
i wonder if that stopped when communism fell?

The problem is that Russia has both a land and air force of formidable might for the region. Aerial superiority alongside a good ground force makes for a hell of a combo.

NATO has already encroached much too far to the East. But NATO taking Ukraine represents an existential threat to the continued existence of Russia.
>invade Ukraine to keep as a buffer state between Russia and the NATO
>have the NATO put up arms and constant tension in return along the borders to Russia and Ukraine

Wonderful plan, couldn't have thought of anything better to reduce my tensions with the NATO. God Putin is such a retard.

Also all we have is a few grainy videos and press release from the Ukie MoD we have no frickin idea what casualties are either side or how well they are doing, though I will allow that the Russians do seem to have broken out from Crimea and don't yet seem to have encountered an organised defense on that axis of advance
As you said there's little to go on and I could be totally wrong, but after watching the limited amount of videos I can over the past 3 or so hours, it seems to me that a lot of the videos showing Russian loses (which seem to get more traction online, probably wishful thinking) seem to be showing fairly isolated stuff. MANPADS from seemingly an urban setting taking out a chopper, a lone tank along the side of the road, a lone armored vehicle abandoned i a ditch. I find myself wondering if A) the Russians are still being pretty mobile and advancing and/or B) command has already fucked off so a lot of the Ukes are just doing what they can in small groups. I think if the Russian advances were getting soundly blunted you would be seeing more fields with multiple smoking tanks in them

But then again, most of these videos are shot in portrait, so the slavs may just be retarded and not know the actually interesting/important stuff to film

Thing to remember is that Russia taking black people in was a pure optics move. It showed that the US wasn't the beacon for freedom it promises when its own "citizens" (niggers) aren't given the same rights as whites.

they dont give a rats ass about "reduce my tensions" you clown, they want space because they need the strategic depth.

This is my general take. Isolated pockets of single victories but no unified, significant counterattack. The losses for Russia are negligible.

I'm seeing lots of these videos. Is that a Russian armored vehicle or Ukrainian? If it's Russian is it regular Russian army or irregular militia from the breakaway republics? I have no fucking clue and neither do any of the people sharing.

What I can say is that western politicians are expecting this to be done and dusted in days, in fact they'll be praying to Moloch for just that. Everyone's worst nightmare is for this to drag out for weeks or even months. Sure histrionic proclamations of muh principles followed by sanctions is all well and good but a doubling in petrol prices means every single one of them will be out of a job at the next election, assuming they can quell the mass riots.
As I see it it doesn't really matter if they're Russian or Ukrainian, although the uniform makes me think the former

The problem is that you're killing a lot of young men and wasting a lot of military equipment at a time where your population is already declining and economy stagnating. The more violent this war gets the more both sides lose. This isn't an Iraq war where the Americans are bombing sand niggers back to the stone age

Those tensions are inevitable, what with the DNC warpathing wild hate against Russia. Given the option of "Be villified, hated, and have the enemy at your door" or "Be villified, hated, and have the enemy at the door of the entire country you occupied and fortified to slow them down" - its not hard to see what Putin would choose.
