Gotta admit that I thought the ruskies would opt for a more veiled approach rather than an all out invasion of Ukraine. Guess their self-esteem is truly off the charts these days.
Aside from that, I truly can't say that I am particularly surprised by those events. Both China and Russia have been testing the waters for military invasions in the last decade or so. The political and economic instability brought on by the pandemic (intensionally or not, who knows) has only worked as a useful smokescreen.
Europe's absurd decision to sabotage their own energy sufficiency certainly helped wonders and now we're at a point in history where the mass media elected scarecrows have finally called the bluff of the figureheads seating in the UN (I suspect that the clownery that happened in the Middle East last year played a large part in weakening the public image of the USA).
I can only say that this outcome is a fairly interesting one and it's fascinating to be living in a time where we can witness history as it happens from the comfort of our homes. What a brave new world, really.
On this note...
I’ll help everyone out:
Biden is retarded
Trump is retarded
Deranged American oligarchs are evil and don’t give a shit about you
Deranged Russian oligarchs are evil and don’t give a shit about you
Don't lose sleep over the skirmishes between global elites and political figureheads. There are no "good guys" in the field of geopolitics. Everyone is equally terrible and the difference between the elected politician and the dictator is his willingness to put up with the pretense of caring for the people —and he will only do so if he can gain money and influence in the process.
No point in going full on doomer either —there will be no nuclear war. The Ruskies and the Chinese may change the political landscape around parts of Asia and Eastern Europe but that's about it.
Though you might benefit from investing in gold/silver and getting ready for another wave of crisis in the supply chain.
