In a video game’s singleplayer campaign, maybe that would be practical. Dying is always meaningless in those, after all. I think about the Germans who surrendered at Stalingrad. 90% of them died and the ones who survived didn’t make it home until 1955, but I’m sure that no matter how bad the death marches were, or how bad the gulags were, that the ones who made it were glad that they stayed alive to make it home again.
