I think after 10 years of biyearly souls games (Not including souls-likes) the law of diminishing returns is finally kicking in. I think people are getting tired of watching the same game philosophy getting repeated over and over, that or people want to experience the game on their own and would rather just wait for the podcast to hear Pat's thoughts. Not that it matters, Sekiro got the exact same reception at launch, and it took a few months for people to really turn on that game, Pat and Woolie included.

There's several huge souls-only streamers who have nowhere near the views I was expecting them to have right now. I do think a lot of people are avoiding streams of the game in general until they can play it/finish it themselves. Pat's viewerbase probably has more than a few people like that.

Its like the perfect storm of hype build. Fromsoft games got popular due to being "hard" and people started to enjoy watching streamers die playing the games and get mad. GRR as GOT adapted during the period Fromsoft games start building this hype and following. Ontop of that they announce its some giant open world where you can now ride around on horse back fighting shit.

Checked out Pat playing elden ring on twitch, less than 2k viewers and he seems completely going through the motions gameplay wise, basically playing it as a Souls game and paying attention to not much else. 2-3 years ago on big releases Pat would get 3-4k viewers on a stream like this, definitely losing fans slowly but surely. He'll be able to make a living off this for another couple of years or so but he's going to start getting desperate and weird, dps/wingsofredemption style after.

It's probably because he's streaming a pre-recorded video and people want to see a streamer's actual real reactions.

They didn't forget, they never remembered. The subreddit and by extent Pat do not have the ability for complex thought or the ability to articulate it into words, the ones that do keep to themselves because they can speculate on the outcome and decide, it's not worth it. The subreddit sees Trans and they fight for trans rights, regardless of what it is.

Is there anything that the subreddit says that cannot be replaced by a BOT? Scan the subreddit for specific words, make generic comment such as "It's their body, it's their right. You do not have the right to control other peoples sexualities/genders", then they gain points or validation.
