Anyway, is anyone else here not trusting any sources about specific battles going on right now? For instance I've heard stuff like "elite Russian VdV units surrounded and killed in an airport," "Ukranians retaking (x place)" etc. I've heard that in WW2 there were newspapers in Poland declaring that Polish troops were BTFOing Germans, and that at the end the German media was claiming the Endsieg was nigh and the USSR was on the verge of defeat as Soviet troops closed in on Berlin.

The truth is I think it's a fucking melee. Russia just went all in with units moving as far into Ukraine as their gas tanks are allowing. This means Russian forces could be taking villages a hundred kilometer BEHIND the fiercest fighting only to discover they are out of fuel and the resupply is not coming because the Ukrainian Army battalion that was supposed to have just disintegrated at the first sign of a Russian Flag is instead still shooting.

This pretty much means it's an unholy mess and nobody knows where anybody is at the moment. Which may also explain that earlier video of abandoned Russian vehicles. The Russkies drove all through the night unopposed only to run out of gas, have no fucking idea where the rest of their regiment is and decided to ditch their uniforms and vehicles and try and road March back to their lines.

I would not be singing Ukraines funeral dirge just yet. This entire invasion clearly started off very organized but I am seeing signs that the organization is breaking down fast. So in typical Russian fashion I expect we will see some indiscriminate air and artillery attacks to try and send the message to the Ukrainians to stop struggling and spread their cheeks.

If true this is a huge change from 2014. I think Russia was hoping the Ukrainian military would just throw their guns in the ditch and bail. It's starting to look like this is not the case. Putin HAS to get over the Dneiper this week, because if he can't get at the Western population centers that are firmly opposed to Russia he's in deep shit. Especially with the Ukraine government just handing out Rifles to whoever wants one.

With all the disinformation in play it's hard to tell how much ground the Russian's have actually gained. But I really think it's less than they think thanks to the Ukranians being forced into a corner. Donbas and separatists regions are one thing, Kharkov and Kiev are another.
