I get that but again, you're trying to force a group of people who make it very obvious that they don't like you and have already made a series of agreements and treaties to calm your fears. Also this isn't the first time Russia attempted to pull some shit like this. I hope Ukraine shits on Russia like Georgia did.

Part of the problem is Eastern Ukraine wants to be Russian and NATO + USA wouldn't agree to Russias demands of Ukraine never joining NATO and Ukraine disarming heavy weapons. Now while I get not wanting to disarm, not agreeing to the first one definitely makes what's going on understandable even if I don't like it.

You really think so? What kind of "show of strength" are we talking about? I find it hard to believe Trump would have actually put boots on the ground on Ukraine. And how does this square with Trump's nearly constant slobbering all over Putin?

Likely Trump would have moved up Naval assets and struck Assadi interests in Syria as warning. Probably do some "I'm not touching you" flights over the Berring. He would have also fired off a slew of very mean tweets.

Also read the actual statement not the cherry-picked media butt hurt. Trump is enjoying being proven right. He is praising Putin for exposing the EU as a worthless ally. Again, this is typical exec behavior. Trump and Putin recognize each other as self-made men willing to take action (Alphas if you absolutely must).
It is not that Putin was afraid of Trump, he just knew he could wait until the next president came along and safely fuck with them.
