It's interesting watching this play out because it feels like the first major conflict that you cannot trust literally anything being pushed by the western media. Like when I see the "Ghost of Kiev" or the "Father hugging his daughter before going to war" I just assume it's fake propaganda being pushed by the west. I'm not even saying it definitely is but it's just my immediate thought when I see anything they push.

Ukraine has a total of 37 MiG-29s (8 are used for conversion training so for combat aircraft there would be 29 MiG-29s)

Conversion trainers are still usually fully combat capable. All that means is that those 8 airframes are the ones earmarked for training pilots new to the MiG-29 (but not to flying).
