NATO hasn't been focused yet. They could still strike to deny the Russians Kiev. I'd like confirmation on this though.

Honestly, I agree. I mean, you'd think that their equivalent of Fort Detrick or USAMRIID would be co-located with military bases hosting various other types of equipment.

Wouldn't be suprised if the Russian's capture the city to declare themselves the winner. and demoralize the Ukranians. They're probably flooding the city to see who can get their first.

That's a SAM launcher Strela-10 air defense system, Ukraine has 75 of those. It doesn't really make sense to me that Russia would send a SAM as the first vehicles into Kiev.

Likely the armoured vehicle got hit and the crew and passangers bailed. I think a crew + passangers in a BMP-2 is 2 + 8, so most of them likely managed to retreat, unless it held no passangers. In that case it got hit and the hit killed the crew, but did not disable the engine. My guess is that Ukrainian troops have pulled out the bodies out from inside the vehicle, and also looted it of food, cigarettes etc.

The Talichads know how much it sacrificed to defeat a superior force through blood and sweat and tears and goats. They don't want Ukraine to go through Medal of Honor on Veteran mode.

Bodies look like they've been searched, which means the vehicle would be, too, and foreign MREs are always a delicacy to a soldier.

Their plan is likely to enter Kiev and to create some sort of new friendly government. They already had control of nearly all the territories they were interested in
before the war even started. All I can say is "good luck with that".

Any government that they create is going to be inherently unstable and minus the money that was being pumped into Ukraine from the west, what little is left of
the Ukrainian economy is going to totally collapse after this. Ukraine was bankrupt before the war started and they will be something worse than bankrupt after
the fighting ends. The Russians are going to have another expensive mess on their hands.

The only sane future for anyone in Ukraine at this point is emigration.

Crew is 3, likely no passengers since the doors in the back are still closed.
