In one of the few reasonably sane articles on RationalWiki I mostly agree with:

This former nude model/Playboy Playmate is one of the biggest reasons for the anti-vax movement gaining traction and has been caught in Brianna Wu level lies more than once.
Hers was the first Playboy i ever saw. Back before internet porn, porn magazines were like currency when you're in Jr. High.

They still are in the can. Though I imagine they might gain more traction in public schools when the average parent is more savvy about putting up filters.

Oh yeah, while far from a lolcow, Sasha Grey has always fancied herself an intellectual. A real connoisseur of the best music, film, and literature. She even took a stab at writing some fiction with The Juliette Society. I took a quick skim through it when I was working at Barnes & Noble. Let's just say she isn't quite up there with Tolstoy and Flaubert quite yet.

I imagined this with a mental audio of Ms. Grey herself.

It makes it all the funnier. The woman sounds like she just got stoned for the first time after a lobotomy, and picturing her reading aloud the phrase, "The only book ever written that outdoes The Bible for sexual perversion and violence.," is almost beyond parody.

It's really sad that so many people consider her to be credible when the only reason she's famous is she had a few naked pictures back in the 90's.

I mean is she being posted about because she's been raped? Because she accused someone of it? Either way it's more depressing than anything else.

She's crying about it on Twitter while not filing any charges with the police or trying to seek justice through the legal system. That alone is probably can suggest something about the veracity of the claims.

Well, at the same time, she's risking libel if it's not true. I have no horse in this race, though James Deen always struck me as a really fake "nice guy"?

I don't know much about either of them outside of the current online shitstorm. Latest development is that James Deen has lost his job at a website called "The Frisky" where he was writing a sex column. The website seems to be of the "listen and believe" type judging by the comments they've made on the matter.

Here is what BBC has to say about the controversy:
After an adult film star was accused of rape, the editor of an online magazine dedicated to pop culture and relationships has pulled his sex column.

Over the weekend adult film star Stoya tweeted accusations that her former partner, the adult film star James Deen, had sexually assaulted her.

Since then, another adult film star made a similar accusation in the Daily Beast.

Deen has publicly denied these accusations, writing on his own Twitter account "these allegations are both false and defamatory."

It's a familiar pattern in cases of sexual assault: woman makes accusation, man denies it. But it was enough for Amelia McDonnell-Parrey, editor-in-chief of online magazine The Frisky, to discontinue her working relationship with Deen, who contributed to a sex column on the site.

"We won't be publishing [Deen's column] going forward," wrote Mcdonnell-Parrey in a post explaining the decision.

"This makes it impossible for me to work with him any further, to give him a forum for giving advice that he is accused of not following himself."

McDonnell-Parrey told the BBC that she decided to terminate any future columns "almost immediately after seeing Stoya's post," and that their site focuses on "believing women".

"I knew our relationship with him had to end simply due to the fact that if someone is accused of rape, regardless of the truth, they are no longer the right person to be giving sex advice," said McDonnell-Parrey.

"When women speak out, they are often met with an unbelievable amount of abuse, harassment and hate. There is absolutely nothing wonderful about coming out to the world and telling people you've been raped," says McDonnell-Parrey, who has written about her own rape on the site.

"At the end of the day, I have a choice. I believe him, and run the risk of being wrong, or I believe her and run the risk of being wrong. I would far rather believe her and I will stand by that decision."

Some, others argued that as Deen has not been proven guilty, the choice was unfair.

One user commented on The Frisky's post: "As someone who has been sexually assaulted and understands what it's like to be a rape victim, I also find it dangerous to make assessments off the bat without knowing a thing about what really happened."

But many online praised the choice, noting the different standards for a court of law versus a place of business.

"We usually can't know to a moral certainty whether an allegation of rape is true. So why not just remain agnostic? That essay explains why," wrote activist Angus Johnston on Twitter.

"There are costs and risks to 'I believe women.' But there are costs and risks to a knee-jerk 'innocent until proven guilty' stance, too."

Neither Stoya nor Deen responded to the BBC's request for comment.

Innocent until proven guilty but James Deen has always creeped me out and I would not be surprised in the least if he forced himself on a few chicks. But this is beyond good and evil; the lols flow freely from people on both sides of this argument, crybaby Jezebel feminists and maladjusted weirdos who step up to bat for some skeevy porn star through whom they live vicariously. What a time to be alive.

Well that was... pretty much what I expected.
I kind of want to buy this just so I can sit back and indulge in my inner /lit/erati snobbishness. I'd always heard Shasha Grey was a faux-intellectual but seeing this here really confirms it. I'm sure I'll get A-Logged for this but her writing really is FanFiction levels.
"This organisation is totes secretive, guys. Like, seriously it's sooo secretive and every member is like a billionaire and they get together and really kinky sex because that's what secret societies do."

I mean, there's potential for an erotic story there but its handled about as well as the Maradonia Saga handles the Fantasy genre. I'd love to read the sex scenes just to see how bluntly and crudely they're written. I fully expect to be some "ah ahh yeah ahh fuck me, ah ah ah" kind of dialogue. Reading some reviews on GoodReads more or less confirms this. Kind of disappointed there's no sporking of it yet. If I can get my hands on a full copy I might just do one myself.

Risi Simms/Liz Katz
Liz-Katz.jpg

Dunno if she could be considered as big a cow as some others, but there's definitely some lolcow elements. She ran away from home at 16 and eventually found herself in porn, some of which may have been filmed while she was still a minor. I remember reading an interview with her a while back, in which she claimed that she'd go to school topless for attention, and once shaved her head for the same reason (the latter claim is supported by high school yearbook pictures which used to be on her Facebook before she deleted it). Unfortunately, this no longer seems to exist, so she may have had it pulled down.

Simms claimed to retire from porn in 2012, and resurfaced as "Liz Katz," apparently her real name. She basically became a cosplay whore. None of her cosplays were anything special, and the whole thing seemed to be just another way for her to show off her body without actually getting naked anymore. She also ran a YouTube channel. Most of the videos just seemed to consist of "lol seww randum" attempts at humor, so I didn't pay much attention to it (though, to her credit, she did find a home for a stray dog she found). Her two most notable videos were the one where she sperged over people calling her a "fake nerd girl" and came across as insecurely trying to prove her "nerdiness" (unfortunately doesn't seem to exist anymore), and one where she talked about some girl who bullied her in elementary school (using the girl's full name and showing a recent photo of her), and pretty much came across as a bitter cunt. She was clearly attention whoring in these videos, especially in her channel's later days (one, for example, was filmed right after a shower, with Liz clad only in a towel, for no reason). Most of these seem to be lost, though a few still survive. She later became yet another Twitch.tv whore, and did that for a while. In the meantime, she continued to do porn for a bit despite claiming to have retired. She "left" the porn industry in 2012, but her most recent porno, according to IMDb, came out on July 2, 2013. This was well after she reinvented herself as Liz Katz (addendum: to be fair, these may have been filmed earlier).

Off-topic, but the only review for this flick was written by two people, a father and a son, which I found a bit strange. A quick scan of the guy's user page shows that this guy and his father watch and review porn on a semi-frequent basis. Again, this is a bit strange to me, and honestly if there is more content, he might be thread-worthy. I'll make a note of it for later.

Anyway, she made every attempt to deny her past as Risi Simms, and would almost instantly block anybody who referenced it, and deleted the comments immediately. It's totally understandable that she wouldn't want to discuss the fact that she did porn, but she was completely fucking Orwellian about it. For reference, similar streamers like KneeColeSlaw and Jessie Rogers both at least own up to the fact that they used to do porn, though they generally avoid discussing it. Liz, on the other hand, expected her audience to believe that Risi Simms was a completely different person who just happened to look exactly like her, and just happened to have the exact same tattoos. She continued to do porn as Risi while she did her shtick as Liz, though nobody was supposed to know, and any mention of it got memory holed.

Earlier this year, her fanbase finally put two and two together and figured out that gasp Liz Katz was Risi Simms!! Even though her content was freely available online for years. They spammed her social media pages with links to her videos. She sperged out over Twitter before deleting everything and pretty much quitting the internet. It should be noted that she claimed to be bipolar.

With Donny Long and Mike South, there seems to be a renewed interest in porncows.

There's a ton of autism in the porn industry, apparently. Everyone is a raving narcissistic loon who hates everyone else and posts inflammatory shit. The major problem with this is that it's often difficult to form a clear picture of what happened on any given day. These peoples' recollections always differ so wildly because they're both trying to make themselves look as good as possible that there's no way to discern who is actually telling a closer approximation of the truth. Everything is a "he-said/she-said."

Christian XXX

Steroid junkie and self-hating homosexual. Christian XXX has flagrantly violated the gay porn world's health codes via frequent bareback sex scenes with men, women, and trannies as a top and bottom. Likely one of the best arguments for Measure B in existence, and one of the sources confirming that Charlie Sheen has HIV and is into shemles.

Unfortunately, one of the best sources on this loser is his ED page, which is both in need of a serious cleanup and a better website.

Needless to say, the OP will be updated frequently.
Christian XXX is actually from where I go to college, believe it or not.
Have we mentioned Max Hardcore?
He was one of the few people who was tried for obscenity in the modern day.
He made his videos so that verbal exchanges would imply that he was boning twelve-year-olds and acts like an abusive, mysoginistic asshole in real life. His videos had to do with fisting, vomiting and other wholesome activities.
I also should mention Bonnie Rotten, who had sex with Max Hardcore and then tried to deny all information and censor all criticism towards her.

Max actually had his website seized and I believe he went to prison for obscenity charges. It really is interesting how these lines are constructed in terms of legality.

There was a porn actress named Lupe Fuentes who was marketed as basically a pedo's dream. A guy got arrested for having a porn of hers when flying to Puerto Rico. Lupe was subpoenaed and had to supply proof she was 19 when the film was shot.
