To be honest, covering it up wasn't really necessary. He's barely even trying to smile there. Either that or he just can't move his facial muscles without cracking that thick layer of plaster makeup he's got going on.

Just to check for confirmation bias, I went and did the same thing with a bunch of photos of myself. I recommend everyone give it a go; you don't fully appreciate how dead behind the eyes troons like Jimbo are til you compare and contrast with a normal set of peepers.

Jim Sterling continues to lose thousands of subscribers consistently each month, at this rate he may very well dip under 800k before the end of the year if he continues to lose 4k a month, which is the minimum he's pretty much lost a month with the exception being one month where he only lost 3k. I would also add that while the whole pandemic situation is obviously a downside on the whole, I've heard quite a few trans' people find a silver lining in the ability to wear a mask at all times to not have to worry about having their face seen all the time.

Of course, I doubt Jim experiences that kind of thought which would require actual dysphoria at the idea of not passing, which is on the whole incompatible with...Gestures in the approximate direction of the hambeast.

Looking at the numbers and Jim's reaction the only thing that comes to my mind is that he doesn't want to acknowledge that he is in entertainment business and if he is having less and less viewership and lower retantion rate that means his business model is bad and either he change to something that works or he should focus on more important things and start viewing his/hers Youtube career as part-time job.

It ain't that hard to conceive idea that people doesn't want to be involved in your content because of something or you are reaching bad audience or your target audience expects something totally different. He should spend more time on YouTube channel analysis rather than dress ups that lead to fucking nowhere.

It's called being bad at your 'job'. His entertainment is less of a job since actual ones require specific skills. Jimbo more or less sees the more general obvious opinion and parrots it in his way.

Jim, and similar activist types, have a problem because they are using 'trans conversion therapy' to bring to mind the worst of the worst when it comes to gay conversion therapy, things like kids being forced to go to religious boarding schools against their will or having to take a cocktail of chemicals to suppress their natural urges, but when you actually look at what the hot button topics are with what they call trans conversion therapy, half the time its extremely reasonable stuff like parents not really being convinced that their child actually is the opposite sex and that they shouldn't feel under pressure to affirm their sexual identity or go into the extreme medical intervention route for their kids to 'achieve' their gender goals. This gets extra murky since a lot of kids will end up detransitioning or losing interest in the whole trans identity which ironically often ends up just being a preamble for them turning out to be gay, and some therapists take the position that its better to wait and see how things turn out before carting them off to get their secondary sexual characteristics surgically removed. If a parent refuses to automatically indulge everything that a child says about his or her gender identity, especially if the reasoning makes no sense. or they have a history of mental illnesses that might make them vulnerable to this kind of obsessive thinking and furthermore refuses to consent to often extremely expensive and destructive medical procedures that are by every possible metric completely unnecessary if you aren't talking about trans people threatening to kill themselves if they don't get them, that's 'Conversion therapy' in the minds of a lot of trans activists and frequently this kind of stuff is snowballed into wider conversion therapy legislation that targets the much more obviously horrible stuff.

It also creates a chilling effect with therapists, a lot of the time the fear of being labelled as a conversion therapist or even breaking the law depending on how trans conversion therapy is defined means that a lot of therapists take the path of least resistance and go for a pure affirmation model, even if they may know better and think some caution should be applied and that a child shouldn't be completely indulged in whatever wacky thing they are saying about their identity. This can have destructive outcomes, as the Keira Bell case shows, where down the line some kids who get some really radical medical intervention can regret the damage that's been done to their body and hold their therapists and doctors accountable for not advising caution instead of just mindlessly affirming everything. Its gotten to the point that in Sweden one of their highest profile medical institutes, which was previously extremely pro-trans, seems to be shifting towards a much more cautious stance that I'm sure that somebody like Jim would decry as Conversion therapy.

Curiously this hasn't been talked about much but I think it might indicate a low key shift in the attitudes of medical professionals.

Oh also, I just have to mention I love the sick irony of Jim and people like him screaming about conversion therapy constantly, when one of the worst things about gay conversion therapy is the use of unnecessary and invasive drugs that can fuck up your bodies natural functions and ruin your life in chase of a Sisyphean goal of changing one's true nature, and this is coming from the same people who consider the fact that kids may potentially not be given puberty blockers or opposite sex hormones to try and become an awkward facsimile of your desired sex to be part of trans conversion therapy!

While I agree with what you're saying, doesn't the U.K. already have the requirement to be vetted by a psychiatrist for actual transition ?

I feel like not forbidding actually harmful practices to defend (potentially harmless but) redundant ones is...actually sketchy, at least if there isn't some other reasoning behind it - as someone else said, I wouldn't put it past current year for the reason to be that this could end up backfiring because of the bad part of the trans' community (Whether because it actually forbids some stuff they do or they're angry about it for some reason).

But its stuff like that which are one of the reasons trans activists hate the UK so much, hence 'TERF island'. Pretty much any vetting process, even if it includes children, is seen as harmful and discriminatory against trans people, to the point that its often called conversion therapy in itself. You can see this with another clown who I follow on this site, 'Abigail' (re: Oliver) Thorn who runs the channel Philosophy Tube, who has ridiculous demands about how there should be no vetting by psychiatrists at all and that trans people should be able to get every insane procedure they want paid for by the NHS with no oversight, also that children can transition with pretty much no barriers and if there are any psychiatric assessments that must be done then they should only be conducted by LGBT+ therapists.

For the second paragraph, I'm actually against broad bills banning conversion therapy since I think that hypothetically (even if its vanishingly rare) it can be somebody's free and informed choice to undergo conversion therapy if they really want and I don't think that kind of things should be legislated against with the power of the state preventing it. I think that when it comes to conversion therapy it might be more productive to crack down on the specific objectionable stuff like children being forced to undergo it without their consent or the large number of other abusive practices associated with it.

Why would Jimbo need to brag about making money from wrestling if he makes five digitals monthly? Even if he loses 60% of that income to taxes, He's still more well off than most of his audience. He never discloses where the money goes beyond taxes - which is fine, he doesn't need to tell anyone that - but it gets weird when you consider his lack of modesty. He's always been one to brag; from "look at these devs who thought they could defeat me" to "here are all my hot takes that others don't like" to "look at all the sex I get to have". Just seems weird that his spending habits are the one thing he doesn't overshare given his love for talking about himself and his interests.

Actually, these are professional failing numbers. Remember how most of these videos are on Elden Ring, and he couldn't even break even for one month. Don't let the low numerical value get in the way of the story: Trend Chasing can't save Jimbo now.

My one interaction with Jim was on the Escapist before he moved (got yeeted) to youtube (and prior to the autism apocalypse of August '14). He put out yet another capitalism bad video wrapped in some video game topic.

I responded in the forum with something like "Look we get it capitalism bad, now can we get back to gaming content from our gaming series on a gaming site".

The next day I had a very irate Jim in my PMs on some rant interlaced with plenty of insults against me and "gamers" in general. I responded with "Dude, just take the note and move on".

The next day I found myself on the receiving end of a lifetime ban for "harrasing PMs", that was the only PM I ever sent in my entire time there.

He's massively thin skinned for someone who spews such thinly veiled vitriol online for a living. Looks like he never took the note either.
