Robobot is one of the best entries in the series. The Robobot Armor was fun to mess around with, and the game had a great selection of copy abilities
Kumazaki era tier list
Planet robobot>Forgotten land> Return to dreamland> star allies> triple deluxe
Not sure if I could Super star ultra since its a remake though
the game had a great selection of copy abilities, including one of the best copy abilities in the series with Poison
I preferred water but I can see the appeal of poison, but my favorite new Planet robobot ability is ESP
a lot of the returning abilites were strong with stuff like mirror and jet, absolute tragedy that none of them made it into star allies because for all that game's faults it also has a pretty good ability selection
Would have loved to have seen it get an HD port on Switch.
Kirby dream collection 2 would be amazing
Mario 3d allstars should have been this shit for presentation
Between HAL Laboratory having said they want to make more Kirby games in this style, and FL having the biggest Kirby launch in Japan, it looks like there will be more games that follow this style going forward.
They also said that they don't want to limit themselves just to 3d kirbo, which if it's more of the quality of Planet Robobot then go ahead
I played and enjoyed Super Kirby Clash more than is probably acceptable in polite society. Which is to say I 100% that game.
How much in microtransations did you pay in gem apples to (((Magolor)))?

After I played for about 20 hours I got the package where you buy the game. Most of my purchases are based on enjoyment and time spent. So I think that makes it a 40 dollar game? It was worth that price to me.

Nintendo needs to get back to releasing 40 dollar games.

I started playing Super Star again.

seems like they are really pushing the 30th anniversary, even saw Japanese kirby merch in local normie shops yesterday
It's kirby time reminds me of "its gooby time" lol
Man, thirty years.

I remember when the Dream Collection came out ten years ago and I was able to play the Kirby games released before 64. Not long after, I played Return to Dreamland with my nephews who were like five and seven years old I think. We were able to play the entire game through.

During the ending, my youngest nephew asked, "Who would win in a fight? Mario characters or Kirby characters?"

"...I think the Kirby characters would."

"Yeah. I think so too."

Both of them are almost grown up now. Hard to believe how much time has passed already.

Despite naming myself after a Kirby minigame, I haven't played a new main series Kirby game since Amazing Mirror. Here's every Kirby game I've played my thoughts on them:

Dream Land: Loved it as a kid, but it's objectively the worst game in the series by modern standards.
Adventure: Fun, but Nightmare is literally the same thing but better.
Dream Land 2: Adventure, but not. A remake would be awesome.
Super Star: The best game I've played in the series.
Dream Land 3: Didn't really care for it, music aside.
64: Really fun, despite aging very poorly in a lot of ways.
Nightmare: Probably my second favorite Kirby game.
Amazing Mirror: Played it for half an hour and couldn't get into it. Maybe the beginning just sucks.

Based on this, which games should I try? I know everyone has a boner for Planet Robobot, but I never hear anyone talk about Triple Deluxe or Star Allies. I didn't even know Star Allies existed until I looked up a list for this post.

Return to Dreamland is great. Triple Deluxe and Robobo are also great, people used to talk about them a lot.

I liked Star Allies a lot. Not everyone will agree. And the new game is also great. Also I would put in a vote for Kirby's Epic Yarn if you like to get wasted and play comfy games.

Definitely play Return To Dreamland. Especially if you have friends to play locally with. Kind of a mixture of the best aspects of every Kirby game at that point.

Would also try Super Star Ultra if you haven’t already. The extra content is great and was also the first to have the True Arena mode.

Triple Deluxe is alright but not as good as RTDL and Robobot. The main campaign of Star Allies is super easy even for Kirby standards, possibly because you have up to three helpers pummeling everything for you.

I play mainly for the main stuff personally. Just feels nice going through the motions and switching between different powers.

The fact that the games do have a skill ceiling in regards to the power move sets and there are harder optional stuff for players to take on is a testament to the replay value and appeal these games have.
