Looks like it's Russias turn to start making impotent threats of unspecified consequences.

They have been doing that for a while now. Just Finland by itself has more than enough to successfully fend off an invasion, let alone against a strained enemy with low morale, fighting on even worse conditions on two fronts now. Would suck, but it would be even worse than Ukraine for Russia!

Now, directly threatening the U.S.? Direct U.S. involvement means direct NATO involvement. It exponentially fucks them over. Would be suicidal to say the least!
It's going to devastate their war efforts. The Moskva was 50% of the Black Sea Fleets air defences. The Russian Media may claim that it was crew incompetance that sank her. But the remaining 10 still operational ships of the Black Sea fleet bugged out to the Southern rim of the Black Sea at remarkable speed. This tells us that they at a minimum feel Ukrainian Anti-ship missiles were involved. And that those missiles have enough range to effect Area Denial along the northern coast.

What this means is the Russian's have lost their seaward air defense screen. Leaving a much wider open and undefended area of attack for the Ukrainians as Russian forces are largely confined to hugging the coastline.
The morale effect of the sinking is enough to be a game changer by itself. Let alone all the circumstantial changes you just mentioned!

There's also the issue that the ship is functionally irreplaceable for quite some time, and still would be even without all the sanctions. I don't think Russia really has the capability to build new cruisers. The yard that built that class is in Ukraine now, and I doubt they have the ability to build one either anymore, even pre war. They've lost a lot of shipbuilding capability just from the people with the experience retiring out of the field.

To think - at one point western military generals had their panties in such a wad about this class of guided missile boats that it was one of the main motivators for developing the Arleigh Burke class destroyer.

And then some slavs come around and sink it to the bottom of the black sea with probably a chinese knockoff Exocet.

I can't wait for the US and english of all people to complain about this and call it a terrible war crime that must be stopped.
Ngl I never though this would happen but because of the way this illegitimate administration stole an election and are aggressively destroying as much as they can in America and now have prodded the Russians to this point, I feel no patriotism and inwardly pray for the Russkies or whoever to just vaporize DC and eliminate all of the radical left.
An invading army could not be any worse than this bullshit.

Not just functionally, strategically. Russia as long as this is going on, cannot move new warships into the Black Sea. They can take some out, sure, but they can't move them back in too. There is at the moment, another two Slava Class CG's still floating in Russian hands, but IIRC both are currently in the Mediterranean, and neither can enter the Black Sea as both are not from the Black Sea Fleet.

The Slava's close range AA missiles were Osa's on Twin Armed Bandits. They had two shots per side, that's it, then the CIWS, and Russian CIWS is temperamental.

It carried 64 naval S-300's. 98 or so kilometer range, in eight revolver canisters, eight missiles per launch system. It was the only truly long range AA system in the Black Sea Fleet.

Actually the Ukrainian Neptune is a knockoff of the Soviet Kh-35, known in NATO circles as the Harpoonski. It's a Harpoon knockoff.

General George S. Patton: “The difficulty in understanding the Russian is that we do not take cognizance of the fact that he is not a European, but an Asiatic, and therefore thinks deviously. We can no more understand a Russian than a Chinaman or a Japanese, and from what I have seen of them, I have no particular desire to understand them, except to ascertain how much lead or iron it takes to kill them. In addition to his other Asiatic characteristics, the Russian has no regard for human life and is an all out son of bitch, barbarian, and chronic drunk.”

Can't imagine the level of niggercattlery you'd have to be on to disagree with this. Best case scenario for the world is that everyone in charge dies and the rest of us live in peace.

The most accurate statement of the thread, and rather than throwing it away America is using it for all its still worth. The Rothschild ponzi is coming to a close, and with it goes America's true power. Aircraft carriers can be sunk, and nukes destroy the world, but control over shekels enslaves people to your will without them knowing or caring (so long as the bread and games are extreme). The last century of total war is the same century of central banking, only cohencidences to be found there. For Russia, this is a war of total annihilation now that Putin decided to break free from the debased fiat Dollar.

America is kind of in a catch-22. It can either be as harsh as possible with sanctions to try to ruin/discourage Russia while alienating neutral parties like India, therefore weakening its financial empire, or it can give a slap on the wrist which will embolden its enemies. They’re choosing the former, but either way they stand to lose power in the long term due to globalism being inherently fragile as has already been stated.

We might be witnessing the beginning of a new era of world history but that’s a grandiose thing to say.

More accurately, they've gotten slightly less POZ'd Eurotrash to go full POZ, resulting - in the short term at least; time will tell about this "EU Army" unicorn - in the US taxpayer paying more to defend more Zone A Zombies. This isn't necessarily a net-negative for the Muscovite Rus. It's not impossible they learned a thing or two from the US bleeding the USSR dry with an arms race.
The US 'bleeding the USSR dry via an arms race' is a neat bit of post hoc Reagan justification but more folklore than reality. In truth the most destructive thing the US did was convince OPEC to flood the market with cheap crude killing one of the last reliable sources of hard currency for the Soviets. The Soviet oil crash in the mid 80s was so destructive that Russia didn't return to normal oil production until the late 2000s.

Actually, we found out real reason for Russian invasion: Borscht!

If it wouldn't be for the fact that I can understand keywords from her speech, I'd never, ever would believe this is real. The lunacy of western media is nothing compared to this :suffering:

Also, new compilation from /pol/ dropped

Not to mention, I've seen a few Pro-Russian accounts coping by listing similar ships, but they're from other fleets meaning they're useless because they're not in the Black Sea and can't be since Turkey is not allowing any Warships in or out of it.

Fact check: FALSE. Most Russians don't look gay
Correct, they look like an unholy rhesus monkey / chink hybrid that should be eradicated with Zyklon-N, as in nuked.

Russia has developed all their "easy" oil, and recent fields coming online are in frozen shitholes way the fuck in the north. New developments require two things:
- Oil price over 50$ to break even
- Foreign expertise, equipment and service companies. As Russians in general are uncapable of planning ahead, they have no oil world-class service companies, and much like the dune coons, let foreigners do the "hard stuff" standing between the boss and a new Yacht.

This legitimately pisses me off. The amount of times I've had to do the work of other people plus my own share for a group project, complain and get told "they'll definitely be repeating", only to see them in the subsequent year is infuriating. Not just Chinese either, a lot of them are Indian.
True. The American way at least gets you a good bribe, like my grandma cooking you a steak.

Ohhh I wouldn't call it inexplicable. Centuries of bad blood going both ways and all.
Eh, I dunno, Russians don't really have any animosity towards Poles, maybe a few jokes about light tubes and toilets. Even Fins are more friendly to Russians, and they could be rightfully angry and smug over the embarrassment that was the winter war. Maybe it is because Russia helped Finland with independence before occupation and Poland, on the other hand, was a great power in the past and is dreaming of returning to the good old days.

And it confirms my theory that all Slav-on-Slav violence is caused by disputes over who created vodka and borscht.
