Yes. Exactly that. Even the driest person making a video of what they are passionate about will be more enjoyable than the most colourful person making a video they don't give a fuck about.@AngryTreeRat Quote bug due to long post, so...
Just to make sure I got it right, your argument is that Jim isn't losing subscribers just because "lolboring tranny", but because he fully surrendered to cheap, low-effort "topical" clickbait instead of talking about things he's actually interested enough in that he'll actually put in the effort for a proper script? Because you might just be right.

This is why gatekeeping is not a universal bad like some would believe, and why aiming for the biggest fanbase is a double edged sword.Short answer? No, of course not. Hobbies should be as accessible as possible to those interested in them but eventually some fuckwit turning up screeching about oppression and muh racisms over fucking video games needs being told to Fuck right off and quickly because they don't bring anything whatsoever worthwhile to the table. If they did, they'd make their own games that would be any good and not fodder for Jamais to do a Let's Sperg on.
If Jim really believed his life was in imminent danger because he's trans, he wouldn't bring attention to himself by wearing what he does. I can't think of anything more likely to catch my eye than a fat man parading around in women's clothing with a horrible wig and makeup that makes him look like a prostitute clown. Are you kidding? Jim spent a majority of that <900k stream pretending transphobia is so rampant, deep, and accepted that it's legal to execute trans people in the streets and dump them in your community's local trans person mass grave.
Jim would be not only willing to believe that 120k are transphobic, but happy to do so since it means he's doing an even heckin' bigger activism by making videos about dumb-dumb capitalism oppressing his poor, downtrodden, universally celebrated by media and corporations, trans brothers, sisters, and whatever the fuck Jim is pretending to be.
No, nor sould they be, and the attempts to harmogonize and simplify everything to be easier to access and more accessible to everyone has over all hurt gaming and is probably the leading reason behind why Souls fans are as defensive as they are. They don't want their game watered down to be something for everyone, even if that means sternly denying how obviously flawed many of the Souls games (including Elden Ring) are in many aspects (such as frame rate, bugginess, poor hitboxes, shitty networking, etc.)That attitude can be really annoying and try-hard… but as someone who doesn’t even play Soul games, and isn’t really great at video games in general, does every experience have to be for literally everyone? Is it so bad for something to be for a particular audience? I’m all for people of all types having games to play, but does it have to be every game? You know who didn’t practise good gatekeeping? The Trojans. And look where it got them.
About the Steam Deck, its actually a rare moment where he talks about video games and makes a good point.Context? I'm a bit curious what "this thing" is.
In fact Jim himself has been inconsistent on the topic because up until recently in his twitter bio he put that he was trans and non-binary something that should surely be mutally exclusive right? How can you be outside of the gender binary while transitioning to be the other gender? Now he's 'transfem non-binary' which is equally as dumb because being on either side of the masc-fem spectum must be you're not non-binary?
Why would a work from home shut-in buy a steam deck in the first place.About the Steam Deck, its actually a rare moment where he talks about video games and makes a good point.

I would bet on any woman or child being the victor versus jim in physical combat.Get woke, go broke, waiting for that unfortunate post where somebody accuses him of being a predator.

He has no gender and must consoooooomTo consoom.
He's a 'journalist' he has to have all games and he has to bitch about having to pay for them, even though that's what his patreon is for.Why would a work from home shut-in buy a steam deck in the first place.
I hate the fact you're probably right - a journalist or reviewer has no place reviewing a product they're not remotely the market for, but that won't stop them. Find me a games journalist who spends a total 10+ hours on public transit every week, give them a steam deck to review - they'll probably consider the thing to be a literal brick of gold then. He's a 'journalist' he has to have all games and he has to bitch about having to pay for them, even though that's what his patreon is for.
Lay in bed playing PC games all day.Why would a work from home shut-in buy a steam deck in the first place.
I look at it from another way. Souls games wouldn't be easier by simply changing some stats, the very nature of their gameplay is about precision and patience. If you don't have it then, short of God mode (that all games on Steam have), the game needs to be completely reworked and that's a massive amount of effort that will not be given to actual people willing the learn the game. That attitude can be really annoying and try-hard… but as someone who doesn’t even play Soul games, and isn’t really great at video games in general, does every experience have to be for literally everyone? Is it so bad for something to be for a particular audience? I’m all for people of all types having games to play, but does it have to be every game? You know who didn’t practise good gatekeeping?
