Oh boy, you obviously haven't been paying attention to the Hugo or Nebula winners for the last decade or so. Winning a Hugo is no longer a guarantee of quality. In fact, it almost is the opposite.I read the whole thing. It's dumb. Neither party say anything of substance despite being ungodly long. Did it actually win a Hugo? I could have sworn that the tweet mentioning the Hugo was a call to submit it for nomination this year. If it did actually win a Hugo then the Hugo's mean nothing anymore because this is terribly written. No one is surprised by that, nothing trannies write is any good. How can it be when the subject matter is so shallow? Gender is a boring subject to make the focus of your story.
I'm not going to defend Unknown Number. It's shit. It's self-indulgent, cheesy, and boring. But it's not really any worse than 2014 winner The Water That Falls On You From Nowhere and is at least shorter and more original. And it's way better than 2016 winner Cat Pictures Please which would be a solid C in an 8th grade English class. That isn't to say that all of them are bad. I really liked 2020 winner As the Last I May Know.
And technically he hasn't won yet. Can you imagine the AGP smirk he'll have when he does?

Sad Puppies.
