I read the whole thing. It's dumb. Neither party say anything of substance despite being ungodly long. Did it actually win a Hugo? I could have sworn that the tweet mentioning the Hugo was a call to submit it for nomination this year. If it did actually win a Hugo then the Hugo's mean nothing anymore because this is terribly written. No one is surprised by that, nothing trannies write is any good. Now consider the trans party line of "Transition and affirmation or suicide" and the "Would you rather have a dead son or a living daughter?" thing. Basically they're conflating affirmation/actualization with basic survival.

Second, we live in a time where society is expected to care for the individual, but the individual is considered selfish if they look out for themselves (unless they're part of a protected class).
This means that if a person who identifies as trans does not receive validation or treats from the people around them, they have been "failed by their social circle".

This dynamic puts the onus on other people and is possibly why turns minority and victim status are desirable things right now; they "entitle" you to more care from "your community".

Both are common tactics of emotional manipulation.

This is something I used to do back when I was on the cusp of peaking, but was constantly being annoyed by one specific TRA on a forum I was on. He would constantly demand the moon for trannies because if they didn't get it they would kill themselves; you're committing murder by telling him that he should stop encouraging a teenager on the board to move to Russia with him so they could claim asylum together in Sweden! And every time he would cry about trans suicide rates I would post this link.

It seemed to be one of the few things that would get through past his shield of self-righteousness and make him hesitate to bring up the suicide threats.

Even for a TRA he was stupid (he claimed he had a 120 IQ by virtue of being a transbian because of a study on straight vs gay TiMs where the transbian population had an average IQ of 120), so maybe this tactic won't work if the tranny is remotely intelligent, but it's a tactic that I wish would get used more, just pointing out how obviously their behavior resembles more traditional abusers.

I propose a new rule! Any time a troon on Twitter complains about being "genocided" because the taxpayer won't pay to give healthy 14-year-old gay kids pancreatic cancer drugs, they have to swap places for a year with a member of a population that is actually being genocided.

This is the logical endpoint of privilege theory. I'm probably being more charitable than I should be believing that when the Combahee River collective first came up with the idea, they weren't trying to set up an oppression olympics. They may have genuinely believed the idea that "liberating" the people they perceived of as on the bottom of the stack in society (themselves, black lesbians) would indeed end up "liberating everyone". But the logic of privilege theory that they articulated is that privilege is this static, unchanging part of your being, something the "system" confers on you that is absolute. So what is produced when this idea is taken up by academia? A cultural economy that uses victimhood and oppressions narratives as currency, essentially a world defined by martyr narratives, where pity rules and suffering confers legitimacy. Now, this is great for a certain class of academic that can now claim that, despite them occupying a place of literal privilege and exclusivity, their belonging to X group means that people aren't allowed to push back against them. Great way to get tenure. But it also opens up the door to the current troon clown world, because the troon narrative is literally that anything short of 100% support caused them to suffer. And privilege theory isn't capable of processing it, because the more you "suffer", the more your "liberation" is supposed to accomplish. Troonism is narcs figuring out exactly how to game the system liberal American set up for itself to justify its superiority over others.
