Speaking of Aki, I don't know Japanese but I enjoyed her Subnautica streams when I could catch them - I recently played and beat it for the first time so it was kind of neat seeing someone else coming at it with a different approach and learning things. One part that sticks out in my memory was when her underwater base was getting damaged and filling with water, and she couldn't figure out the cause - I was confused by what was going on as well because I thought for sure it had enough HP to handle what she had built, and I think the Japanese bros in chat were similarly confused because she seemed to be trying a bunch of different things, but not once did she seem really flustered and just kept going until she eventually figured it out. That sealed Aki as cool-headed under pressure (no pun intended) in my mind.

One selling point of Aki I'd recommend to people looking for an oshii is that she has a certain mature feminine mystique that isn't common in vtubers, let alone real life. She's both physically graceful and temperamentally very composed, even when things aren't going her way.

that stream gave me a bit of a scare, when she first switched over to start making Kanata it was immediately "large black woman" and I was like "oh fuck you aren't going to go gorilla and make her black are you, Miko you fucking insane person stop"

Akirose is nice, her singing voice is great, I really liked Shallys. The problem I see with her design is that it doesn't really sell the idea she's going for, I wasn't aware she's supposed to be an Elf until I read about it and she goes for a more Fantasy/Medieval vibe while her design is clearly futuristic. I do agree that she's got a calm, composed aura, really neat!

I'm honestly really happy for her. She's living the idol dream, she knows her fans know she is Kiara and yet she's getting treated like she would in her own dreams, no schizo assholes, no sexual harassment. Really nice to see she's getting treated with awe and respect, she really didn't deserve the fucking trash treatment she got in the past!

Precisely. Some of these were reasonable, some were direct counters to schizoposting rrats saying she's hitting the wall or her insecurity about herself speaking. She probably didn't mean to be bitchy, but she went over the top a little with these demands. Still, everything seemingly went fine and this shouldn't be a problem unless she decides to act all anal about people posting their pictures outside of the specific timeframe she mentioned, but I'm willing to bet she's not idiotic to the point of actively bitching about this shit lol!

That's sweet she had a wonderful time at ths convention and had a comfortable experience with meeting fans.
I await the next Keeki schizo/doomposting about how her fans are deranged and how bad experiences in the past should keep her shelled up paranoia instead of opening up and growing more confident and gain comfort in the now.

MGS3 took her about 25 hours so far. I think she's going to have some struggles with a lot of 4 because I seem to recall it being a lot more combat-forward in many parts and actually pulling it off stealth requires a lot more effort. I do still hope she does 5 since she's said she's not really wanting to because Snake is voiced by Keifer Sutherland instead of David Hayter, but 5 will be some real pain because that one is way more combat centric and I know the Skulls will absolutely shred her asshole. They're hard even if you know how to play. Good part is at least 5 won't require a total completion because the game is basically over by the halfway point and if she drops it then I won't care or blame her.

I want to see her forced to play Survive though. That should be enough to help her memory hole Metal Gear entirely.

Personally I think most of the fun came to her reacting to the goofy and absolute buttfuck insane writing, especially of the first two games (Snake Eater is pretty harmless in comparison). Can't wait for her Metal Gear Solid 4 playthrough.

Not only growth, but unanimous, coordinated momentum across the board, to the point where members have recorded their best month three or even four times this year.

So while I can't determine if the audience is growing or if they're coming from existing fans who want a change of pace, I can say that there is at least a willingness to try new things and support other businesses, and that ebb and flow is quite healthy.

It would be interesting to know how many of those are completely new to vtubers and how many of them might come from either people that follow shit like Vshojo or people that were strictly Hololive and moved to Niji.

I honestly tried, but after a few minutes I had to give up. I was just overwhelmed by the pure cringe at display.
