Looks like Polka really likes this game. She woke up thinking about it and is streaming it much earlier than her usual time. If you haven't played it (and can stomach a lot of reading) I really recommend it. It's one of my favorite recent games.

Spoiler: 13 sentinels non-spoiler sperging

13 Sentinels Aegis Rim is a vanillaware visual novel/turn based strategy game that has one of the most fascinating ways of portraying a non linear story that I have ever seen i find myself wondering what restrictions Atlus has on it streaming please be cool Atlus let them finish it (rainbows incoming)

The game follows 13 playable protagonists and after an initial railroading you through the prologues of around half of them the game completely lets go of your hand and says "go nuts"

The story is the thing I will speak the least about in detail as the major draw is piecing it together this game is best gone into as blind as possible but the basic premise is 13 protagonists go through a mind bending twist and classic Scifi reference (eg terminator, war of the worlds, total recall, Source Code, and thats not even close to all of them btw) filled shake up to their normal every day high school lives

you may be asking yourselves how this seemingly disconnected mishmash of classic scifi stories fit together into one coherent story well the majesty of this story is that it is able to pull it off spectacularly nearly EVERY question you have playing it (and trust me it WILL be a lot) WILL be answered

the story is told in 3 ways 1 is Remembrance told in the form of short chapters in each playable characters life you can play any characters any one chapter in nearly any order
(Barring some content gates that require certain prerequisites to keep certain reveals secret to the player until you are ready (or not ready) for them) gameplay consists of Visual novel walking around a beautiful environment with branching dialogue culminating in the ultimate goal of experiencing some kind of batshit reveal that furthers the story

Edit: the reason the non linear storytelling lends itself so well to lets plays is because you can have a vastly differing interpretation of how the story is unfolding due to seeing the twists and reveals in a different order than another player and the lends itself to vastly different theorizing mid gameplay even if it ultimately leads to the same end it allows for opportunity for unique commentary among playthroughs

2. Is Destruction the turn based strategy mech combat complete with countless weapons and upgrades for every mech called a Sentinel you fight an opposing force called "Kaiju" to defend the City from destruction

the 3rd is Analysis and the Event Archive a glossary/timeline that you will need to piece this batshit story together read the glossary entries they WILL fill in any gaps that remain at the end of this Ride

If ANY of this has intrigued you i implore you to buy this game its perpetually massively discounted to around 20 bucks on ps4 and 40 on switch and those prices are steal for this masterpiece of an overlooked gem

To be honest I closed the stream when she said "I didn't learn Hiragana or Katakana, because people told me not to learn it because it'd come naturally", and then tried to argue that this wasn't monumentally retarded. So I don't really know how bad it got later on, but she has a bad tendency of getting passive aggressive towards people either genuinely trying to help her or just disagreeing with her, regardless of whether they're drivebys or regulars.

The fact that she's going out of her way to try to learn Japanese AND scheduling a stream with sleppy dragon Nasa to force her to learn makes me proud of our rabbit. Unfortunately I think she'll be far too hard on herself and be upset that she can't speak it fluently in a month which is ludicrous to expect but she wouldn't be Pippa if she wasn't acting Pipkin. I wanna see this colab even if it means Nasa and Pippa have to communicate in caveman grunts and pantomime. It'd get more eyes on the cute dragon and make them both grow for the better I believe. I'm gonna say it. I don't get the appeal of Kobo. Maybe she is more interesting when speaking Indonesian, but her audio is complete shit and her voice is grating. Kaela and Zeta are way easier to listen to. I guess I could find her voice so awful because of her terrible audio, though.

She's just a very loud kusogaki with a very cute model. She is also extremely talented but her appeal mostly comes from her acting like a spoiled brat.

There was a gentleman watching a twitch stream of what I think was Elden Ring and had this red headed orang eared anime foxgirl Vtuber in the corner. I Honestly couldn't recognize the Vtuber, except maybe from a post a few months ago when people were recommending 2views. Either way, it was interesting to see another person IRL besides those I know that view Vtuber content. I wonder though in my ventures will I see a hardcore Vtuber fan roaming around on the streets with massive Vtuber apperal of their oshi lmao
