This comment isn't particularly timely but it keeps popping into my head.

I remember one of the final little sagas for TotalBiscuit was that "traps are gay" thing. I don't think John would have exactly "terfed out" so to speak - I could picture it but most YouTubers know going woke is profitable in their line of work, and I remember he was a supporter of a competitive trans Starcraft player back in the day.

My thought is this - if someone were to take a photo of Jim now and send it back in time to John, let's say a year before he died bypassing the "why didn't you send me a photo of my son at his wedding or holding his child" or "how do I know this is a real photo from the future"

2) Would it have shaken his developing opinion on trans people to be more negative

It's probably not true that all trans people believe the rest of the world should reorder itself on command to please them endlessly, that seems impossible to be literally true, but the troons who post online are trying very hard to prove that's not the case and that they're all narcissists with a fetish for power. They're the gays who thought pursuing gay marriage and associated rights was a betrayal because true and honest gays want to have orgies in the streets and CHALLENGE the heteros backwards ideas about sexuality. Find the ones who don't talk like this pretty much all day every day and they're probably randoms who pretty much never post about being trans. Unless the online troon community changes to deliberately sideline their worst actors rather than platform them to the heights, all the while essentially outlawing honest criticism, the trans community as we know it probably isn't going to change.

I know two trans people irl, one from childhood another in work. They genrally seem to want to get through the day the same as everyone else. The only thing the one in work seems to feel strongly about is everyone who likes mufc should die and tailored suits look good on anyone. I can't really comment on how other farmers would take them but theirs a weird disconnect with irl trans and Internet trans. Jim a poster child for this as he dresses like a complete tit and acts like a 14 year old. It's a slightly bizzare contrast.

Troon "conversion therapy" is just trying to treat the underlying dysphoria without cutting anything off or shoving body destroying pills down anyone's throats. It should not only be allowed but mandatory.

I totally agree, it's an impossible situation, I've decided to just stay out of it in my personal life. Yeah but the problem is when you accurately describe what is actually happening to troons it sounds incredibly reasonable (because it is). Conversion therapy sounds much more sinister than 'convincing kids they don't actually want to chop their tits off' and genocide carries a lot more weight than 'you have to use the men's bathroom if you are a man'.

Funny cause originally troons went on and on about how the proof that transitioning was a legitimate treatment was their "one/two year waiting period" where they were supposed to actually be in this type of therapy before finally told there was no hope and transitioning was their only option. They held onto the idea that they couldn't be therapeutically helped and that transitioning was the only real help to them using failed psych treatments as proof. That conversation is mostly dead now that they've demanded less restrictions on their actions by equating questioning with discrimination and expanded on the "informed consent" model, especially as dysphoria is continuously divorced from transitioning and not considered essential to be trans. I'm guessing this is due to research indicating transitioning didn't help and that your average dysphoric kid both grows out of it and likely was just gay.

As an aside, no treatment works if the patient is convinced it won't, if they start therapy with the determination that it won't help they'll make it happen so really this never should have been up to the delusional twats to begin with. Of course they want it to fail and get to persue their impossible transitioning fantasy, telling them they just need to fail therapy for two years to do so makes it easier for them
