Why do people keep taking the not-serious answers Oda gave to the question 'what nationalities would the crew be?' as utmost canon and truth? Especially when the world they are from isn't even ours, so those nationalities wouldn't even exist.

Found fresh fanart of Jem and the Holograms today, and of fucking course the artist decided to get SJW with it. They gave Shana (the black one) vitiligo, and Raya (the Mexican one) a prosthetic leg for absolutely no reason. They're not listed as redesigns, none of the other characters have big changes to their looks, just the not-white-skinned Holograms get tumblrized.
