I don't think it is stupidity. I think it's more addiction then anything. Not addiction to food, but to the attention his videos churn out, be it positive or negative, it probably doesn't matter. If you look back at his "career" he has been at the centre of controversy, exposing and drama culture for years. Hell, The Right Opinion made a 4,5 hour long documentary covering most of his shenanigans with other people in the community. It doesn't exactly paint a pretty picture but it provide some insight into how he thrives on being in the spotlight, for whatever reason.
The people who consume his content on a daily basis for anything else then to mock him feed into his addiction. Look how many braindead embryos constantly comment on his videos. Could he go about it in another way? Probably, yeah. But sadly the way he is going about it, and has been doing for years, well, it clearly works for him too. As time hwent on he became equally addicted to the attention, as he did to the food. No grown man is gonna sit ankle-deep in McDonalds leftovers, crying and showing how enormously morbidly obese they are if it didn't bring in enough money to justify the behaviour to themselves, I would hope so at least.
