Debate Dom Cruise on the ethics of defending Capcom as long as you can coom to Cammy's ass

I'm gonna be real for a second:
I was gonna try to give Dom some real advice since it sounds like he has a serious case of arrested development and has likely never had a job and still lives with an overbearing mom who is constantly worried about her Very Special Boy. I'd say he should get a job, move out of his mom's house, and meet some real human beings IRL, and get a constructive hobby that isn't "CONSOOM ANIME TIDDIE".

But then I remember people have been telling him this for years and he never does.

So I'm just going to say this: Dom, when you're on your deathbed (which will probably be sooner rather than later, there's no chance your physical health is much better than your mental health), and the only people in the room are healthcare staff because you have no friends and the only family that even pretends to care about you is gone, as your breathing and pulse slow and you realize "my God, my entire life has been defined by my rage over lack of anime tiddies", remember this: We fucking told you so.

I literally forgot Anita Sarkeesian even existed before I opened this thread today.

@Dom Cruise needs to read some literature STAT. Video games CAN be art but typically they're not, typically they don't allow for that transcendence that art provides. Dom has been corrupted by childish things and it shows in this thread. Being scarred for life by political pushback to 'misogyny' is weak sauce, bruh.

I don't get it. Nobody here cares whether you hate the Jews and their dark-skinned golem mudpeople, or not (pick whichever side you like honestly, leftoid/rightoid, they're both fine choices). But picking one and then walking it back just repulses both sides. The lefties here will assume (probably correctly) that you're actually just a /pol/-tier sped who hates Jews and black people and that those thoughts come to the surface in your more candid moments, and that you only walk it back because you're trying to hide behind a facade of tolerance. And the rightoids here will assume (again, probably correctly) that you're a faggot coward that can't stand by his own convictions and that you will walk even your most earnest thoughts back if you think you're drawing too much heat from people that you claim to hate anyway. You're getting the worst of both worlds by not committing one way or the other.

I reject racism, including left wing Woke racism and anti-white racism, I reject anti-Semitism but Jews need to understand they shouldn't dish it out if they can't take it, there's fair criticisms to be made about the Jewish community same as there is any community because literally no one is perfect and nobody deserves a shield from any and all criticism based on some aspect of their identity, that shit is literally tearing the country apart and we need to stop with these double standards, same thing applies to blacks, women, gays, trans etc etc.

Sorry my man, I don't usually look at my notifications, I don't try to deliberately blow anyone off.
I'm not arguing that I wouldn't look at these characters and pretend fucking Chun Li or whatever doesn't cause an immediate physiological response, it's no different from the weird anime waifus or whatever either, and I don't feel bad about the fact it does because that's natural, but the problem is you need to recognize what these things are and treat them in moderation. It's no different from how when I eat fried food it feels good to eat it, which is entirely natural, but you can tell there's nothing behind it, it's cheap stimulation. It doesn't feel good or fulfilling afterwards, so you don't let yourself become accustomed to it.

Something I always remind myself is that these things were engineered to be this way.

When I encounter a particularly charming woman, the thing is she wasn't necessarily created that way. She took a lot of trips around the sun and became the way she is naturally, she wasn't designed, she's a human being which makes her being the way she is all the more significant. She's going to challenge me, and she'll remember me too afterwards and it'll make her feel nice which is what makes it satisfying.

Female beauty is in large part a function of the fact that women are people. You aren't appreciating female beauty, you're appreciating an exaggerated effigy of female beauty. If you were appreciating female beauty you'd just be appreciating regular women with all the flaws that being a human entails. Women are women, videogame characters aren't, anime girls aren't, they are derivatives.
If we were to look at this as an art, then the kind you're discussing is purely consumptive. Art is as much about creation and appreciation for stuff that isn't explicitly art as much as it is having pretty things or nice music spoon fed to you. That's the artistic mindset, is seeing the art in things that aren't labeled such.

So absolutely a person can appreciate the female form, but then why do you prefer that so much over every other form of art if it isn't founded in sexual mechanisms? It's very suspicious that a person would just so happen to become fixated on Cammy's butt, something very attuned to elicit a shallow physiological response, out of every form of art in the world if their appreciation was mostly aesthetic. Ideally art puts form to deeper more abstract elements of the human experience.

As an aside that's why I'm more into music over visual arts, because it rejects obsession and fetishization to a much greater extent.

I think you're mistaking me. I'm not saying what I'm saying because I'm some ultra conservative straight edge prude. I'm not afraid of the human form or w/e.

It's just like I've responded to people here on KF who believe you can't find meaning or orientation in life if you aren't religious, which is dumb. You don't need bloviating asshole to preach at you to be able to recognize how indulging in cheap shit makes you feel in the long run. It makes you feel empty and leads you nowhere.
Now that I'm writing about it, there's this thing in biology called "supernormal stimulus". It's a case where a certain stimuli that would be evolutionarily advantageous to respond to in nature can be taken to the extreme to cause an organism to behave in a way that is evolutionarily disadvantageous.

For example in certain birds they naturally select for the largest eggs to care for since they are usually the healthiest, however if scientists expose those birds to massive artificial eggs, the birds will abandon their own eggs to go tend to the fake eggs, because they are instinctually compelled to tend to the largest.

When you're looking at these artificial women who have very tiny noses, huge eyes, heart shaped faces, very smooth skin, smooth hair, flushed cheeks, 70% waist hip ratio, etc, that is an example of supernormal stimulus in humans. No women actually look like that. It is supernormal stimuli fucking with mechanisms that would ordinarily be advantageous.

There's nothing at all wrong with the human body, but that's exactly why reducing and stunting it this way seems really disrespectful to it.

I can appreciate real women warts and all, obviously I know when to comes to anime/game babes that's something you have to be careful to not take too far, but even housewives will still read their harlequin romances, it's normal for people to fantasize about over the top sexual stuff at least sometimes even if you're in a relationship.

The worst part about Street Fighter is that Chun-li can't grow to 20 stories tall and crush the player under her big stinky feet. Nothing weird here of course, I just think it would be an interesting mechanic that would add to the franchise.
