General GunTuber thread

Here’s my official statement

I’ve been receiving numerous messages from friends and followers about the ongoing litigation with GWACS Armory centered around the KP-15. As you may know, GWACS filed suit against myself and my business Sinistral Shooting Technologies in 2020 alleging NDA and Trade Secret violations. I think the best way to address this is by sharing my declaration made to the court with supporting documents that was filed recently. You can find that document here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gx8rs50qy35qn5i/#124 2022-07-18 Declaration of Russell Phagan ISO Defendants_ Motion for Summary Judgment.PDF?dl=0

GWACS has made a number of claims in this case that I believe to be false and outright offensive. One of the most offensive of these is their belief that they own every idea in my head related to polymer receiver designs through present day. I never signed a non-compete. I concluded my sale to them in good faith, delivering all the assets they purchased. For years after my sale to them was completed I continued to try to help them improve their product and market it more successfully. I did this because I believed in the product and did so without any direct compensation.

I have dedicated my entire adult life to improving firearms designs and their use because I truly believe in the Second Amendment and the rights of all free people to be armed. My passion for competitive shooting and sharing that with my audience comes from a basis of encouraging everyone in this community to improve themselves and be better. I know I will never get rich in this industry, my satisfaction comes from advancing and improving the technology and the skills of the people in it.

I am very fortunate that KE Arms has allowed me to make so many of my ideas a reality for the firearms community. If you want to help KE Arms, the best way to do so is to purchase KE Arms products. KE Arms is offering a discount code DEFEND2A25 to save 25% on all KP-15 and KP-9 receivers ordered through KEArms.com
I'm sure you'll get sympathy but, with the batshit retard making it his life goal to fuck you over, spreading the KP- lowers as far and wide as you can is probably the best thing you can do.

Hitting me right in the feels - my first AR (and gun) had a fixed carry handle with A1 sights. I'm definitely tempted to buy another from time to time.

It's one thing to spend several thousand on a rifle over time (gradually adding accessories like a suppressor, optic, light and/or IR device) versus spending the same amount to get a LMT or KAC rifle alone. I never understood doing the latter unless you were a Cool Guy (tm) and wanted to clone your old setup (and also qualify for military discount). Seen too many people buy Gucci guns and gear yet neglect to put in any trigger time with them.
You're right that tons of people buy expensive ARs cause of brand and whatnot and never use them but if you work with firearms, gucci shit is a legitimate expense. I want to know my rifle is going to work and be above reproach if I have to carry it daily and have a higher than 0 chance of using it. I want to know that it can survive being tossed around, rolled with, thrown, etc. and the so-called gucci brands are all proven to have that reliability. Cheaper guns like PSAs and M&Ps and Andersons and whatnot don't. Yes, they all mostly go bang when you pull the trigger but you need more than that in a hostile environment. I know of several agencies that used M&P 15 Tacs and replaced them within a year because the rifles could not perform. We're talking about a gun that's probably going to spend the majority of its service life in a front seat rifle rack, but when called upon could not do the job.

Am I saying someone is wrong for buying a cheap AR? No, I understand financial reality but you gotta understand that every job has a proper tool and if its beyond shooting paper, etc the budget brands aint it. I'm not saying Rittenhouse is some kind of anomaly, he pulled the trigger and rifle went bang! like it was supposed to (even with the issues on tape) but that really is not the kind of situation that the M&P 15 is built for in my opinion, despite what they market it as. The tape shows the kid almost got killed clearing a jam. Not saying that won't happen on a purpose built rifle but I will say the chance is less.

I wish I could say my first gun was super cool, alas it's just an M&P 15.
My first rifle was a Wasr that I've never had issues with. Gay, I know, but I always rooted for the bad guys in movies as a kid and the bad guys always had AKs.

Their basic point being that Karl and Lucas are just two sides of the same coin. I don't agree but I can definitely see their points about both of them.
Very brief(~1:29:00), but I get the general idea. Though I don't think Botkin brings anything to the table apart from shooting paper and shilling gear so it's a bit lopsided.

I just deleted the subtitle, and then saw @AGPinochet 's post linking him to fucking Keffals... So maybe @AnyballLecter was being a wee bit optimistic.

I was personally hoping for a crossover with the Tranch..
Idea for a new subtitle would be that Donut's finally crossed that line to (if what I've been told is correct about them) the IP2 ranks

Donut's Latest Acquisition

Donut's bought a van.... IP2 crossover when?

(alternatively, the new subtitle can reference Garand Thumb's clear midlife crisis after kid number 4 IIRC's birth with him growing out a mustache and trying to make himself look more attractive/handsome for his videos and photos for his promotion?)

I disagree Botkins is a weirdo and a dork but I think he has been a net positive to the gun community overall. His videos have brought a lot of people into the gun community that probably wouldn't have otherwise. He also seems to bring up gun control issues, which is oddly one of those things Karl never seems to touch on.

That being said I wouldn't want to hang out with either of them.

Its funny how there have been design and testing videos of electricly detonated black powder shotguns but it only gets eyeballs when a meme guntuber does it to capitalize on an assassination.

Since we can own real guns it's mostly a novelty unless something silly happens. There was a brief renaissance in people noticing them during the California gun buyback craze, because an assembled pipe shotgun was considered a firearm and got a few enterprising scammers a 10-20x return on the materials invested.

e: basically my point is, the average person browsing gun youtube used to see that and go "huh how weird" but wouldn't give it a second glance after the video ends. It's suddenly interesting (to kiwifarms) because grifters are jumping on the bandwagon for clicks to make money off of the death of a famous person.
