Good faith question: How the fuck are you still listening? I started with TBPITU and peaced out late 2019. Same with a lot of people.
I don't know, it's still funny sometimes in certain segments. I listen to a lot of podcasts, this is just one of them. I turn it off halfway through a lot of times. Maybe it's just habit. 9 times out of 10 if I'm listening to a podcast it's while I'm doing something else so it's not as if I'm actively listening anyway.

How many fuckin videos about fat broads is this guy going to make? What even spurned this obsession to begin with? Was his mom a hamplanet growing up or something?

It’s the lowest hanging fruit and lowest effort imaginable. He’s really putting to use those years spent with the Upright Citizens Brigade.

The more weight Dax gains, the more fat bitch jokes he makes. He’s even projecting his weight gains on the entire city of Austin (where he’d move in an instant if he thought he had a hope in hell of glomming onto the cool kids there).

It's getting to the point where I'm probably going to stop listening entirely soon. The fat watch segments are alright but in the last episode if it weren't for the Alex Stein call in I probably would have stopped listening to the episode. I gave up on the new biggest problem in the universe about 4 episodes in, Vito is insufferable. I'm about 3/4 of the way through a re-listen of the original biggest problem (the 'uncucked' version) and I do find it entertaining and dick the more likeable host so it isn't just that my taste has changed.

I still listen to TDS but yea nothing interesting has been going on for a while, pretty much just Fat Watch and when there's a good guest

Right now the main reason is probably that he's still friends with a certain hollerin' hawg, leaving The Penis Podcast out of the loop
Edit: the bonus episodes are still good for going through Maddox clips

I enjoy the embarrassment of Vito that happens every week on TBPITU

As countless people have noted ITT, myself included, Dax benefits tremendously from being paired with an unlikeable pants-shitting retard like George. Without someone that stupid and unfunny to play off against, all you can notice is just how lacking Dax is.

I stuck with the show for a long time past its prime, and I imagine this is why whatever portion of people who are still around keep listening. If you don't go outside the podcast itself, it's decently listenable and isn't too offensive to the ears. Dick makes some riffs, is funny about 1 in 10 times, and with an hour or two to burn at work that means I get up to two laughs per hour, more than if I wasn't listening. Of course Dick was controlling the narrative and making arguments that sounded good if you were just kinda passively listening. And I damn sure wasn't listening attentively so whenever he called some person calling with grievances a retard I was like "yeah haha". I wasn't invested, it was just enough to fill dead air. Then the fucking COVID saga starts and it's literally the same 30 minute intro of arguing about nothing with Sean, then a mildly interesting middle of the show at best, then another 30 minutes of the same argument at the end. I ended up being on the farms around this time and got to watch all the PPP shit happen, which really made me think more critically of the show right before I stopped entirely.

And that's my point: I think that even if all this drama happened, the show would have seen the same decline anyway. All the known content creators in the community disappeared, and the varied spirited discussions just turned into the 60 IQ version of pickup artist rightoid retardation. It turns out when you bog your show down with bullshit people tune out. All the other drama and despicable shit was just icing on the cake.

But honestly, as a passive listener, I think the show would *still* be fine for a podcast if they just made the show listenable again. Drop the same contrarian arguments literally every episode, stop being fucking lazy and come up with a decent bit for your show raking in thousands a month (if it's not all faked), and it would be fine, even with fucking retard chomo man or Dick's own degenerate background. I am of the opinion that no one online is real, so if they make genuinely worthwhile content I don't really care if they're a piece of shit unless I'm directly paying them money, and sometimes not even then. However, all he's done is double down on the worst aspects of the show, and I could never see myself listening to any of the new content ever again.

Not funny anymore, Dick. Got nary a chuckle out of this last one. Be funny. The interview with the 3D printed gun guy would have been better if you encouraged him to elaborate more.

He recycling the libertarian argument again or does he have a new hot take?
He goes into it again during the call in with the 3D printed gun guy on the newest episode. Don't have an exact timestamp because I skimmed it on Spotify while I was doing some shit yesterday.

Cody Wilson again, right? I guess theres only so much he can bond over.

Nah it's some guy named SuckBoyTony according to the episode description. If you want to check out that call it starts at 1:23:49 on the YouTube upload of the episode.

Thanks, I cant be arsed to ever dig up shit in his hours long rambling anymore.

The show can't be funny because Sean is absolute garbage. He steps on Dicks punchlines, interrupts good rants and steers the show in a shittier direction every time. He's an over-medicated NPC that parrots all mainstream talking points until challenged, then he just throws his hands up and claims ignorance. He's an idiot who still believes his anti-depression medication changes his serotonin levels.
Dick should have got an actual co host.

I used to think that Sean was basically just the guy to go uh huh, yeah, really? No shit, that's crazy. No real input or impact, just a guy to explain shit to so it isn't too obvious that Dick did fuck all show prep and was just reading shit he saw a headline for. After hearing the last episode, I would have to agree with you. I don't know when he started to tag the same joke multiple times, with the same punchline each time, then laugh at his own joke, but it's honestly terrible. Years ago Dax gave a single good piece of advice for podcasts. Don't laugh at your own jokes. Sadly that was on WATP so Sean never heard it.

There were 3 or 4 things across the two hours that actually had my attention for a moment, but I guess people just listen for background noise nowadays.
