Two years ago, Alicia Dougherty was a mother of 10 who worked as a housekeeper and had never heard of TikTok.

Then one day she realized her children are so goddamn profitable it's not even funny.

Jesus Christ, is that not about the most heartwarming thing you've seen all day? This woman must be a saint. I mean, look at all the kids she's adopted! And some of them are even disabled, which we all know for sure because Alicia helpfully posted their medical records.

I think the highlights of this video include:
Saying that her son P has "ROPTSD", which stands for Rule Out PTSD
Including his diagnosis of a bruise
"Low IQ Genetics"

But I digress. Most of her videos were simple vlogs of her (kids) daily lives.

Cute. Kind of reminds me of Jon and Kate + 8. That family is doing fine now by the way - right?

Question: When your son sees his biological mom for the first time in years, is it rude to make a TikTok?

Oh yeah, she drinks a TON of White Claw. Keep an eye out for it! It's a game.

All this unfettered information naturally lead to handsome returns. Hey, let's look at her views!

Screenshot 2022-08-30 6.14.07 PM.png

Whoa,

Viral hits from this time include

Now this video was interesting because Alicia disabled the comments on this one due to racist discussions about how her black twins didn't want to share their food with her. I guess when you really think about it, asking kids who were adopted from foster care and know food insecurity to give them a bite of the food they're eating right now isn't a fun experiment to do for TikTok.

What pulled more consistant views than anything were staples of family channels - her morning routines and grocery hauls.

Alicia does cut every kind of sandwich with the same knife, making them "ketchup peanut butter tuna" sandwiches. You can pretty much call it whatever combination of sandwich ingredients you want, she uses all of them and they all go on the knife.

The views get better the more she hauls. And at the end of the year, it's all a tax write off. She did recently have a falling out with Wegman's and no longer shops there because, "I just don't feel very welcome," which is a strange thing to say about the grocery store. Speculation includes any combination of being asked to stop filming, purchasing so much with such frequency, and to stop walking in through their employee entrance which she did every single morning like it was super cool.

Let's check back in with the kids. There's two more of them now by the way, and here's a quick recap

A (16 m) adopted (Plays football, just got a jeep, Alicia was psyched to adopt him because lots of other families were interested.)
J (15 m) adopted (One time Alicia spent an entire live stream complaining about how he put out too big a spoon for the pizza sauce)
P (14 m) adopted (One of the kids Alicia has called "unadoptable")
N (14 f) foster (Alicia might be letting her sip Claws)
D (12 m) foster (Has a girlfriend and they're getting serious, Alicia fully supports)
B (12 f) adopted (The other kid Alicia has called "unadoptable")
Z (10 f) biological (One of the favorites, looks exactly like Alicia)
D (8 m) biological (wears the goggle glasses)
J twins (8 m) (Alicia likes to call them and bio son D the Oreo Triplets. Get it, because they're black and D's the creamy filling. She usually lines them up in oreo order for pictures.)
Little B (5 m) biological ("Our 5 Year Old With Autism!")
H (4 f) biological (The other favorite, Alicia wants her to be a star)

"But wait!" I hear you saying, "You can't post your foster kids online!" N and D are with Alicia through a kinship placement. She knew their mother growing up, and when the kids hit the system she asked Alicia to take them in. This exempts them from many foster care regulations - New York considers the children to have been placed within the family. Now we don't know what kind of money might have changed hands, but their mother is fine with their videos. This introduces an apparent conflict between the interests of the children and the financial gain of their guardians. N and D are breakout stars on the channel and they're old enough to interact with the audience and they have an emotional attachment to the kids. There's huge financial incentive to have them on the channel. When the kids came to Alicia in April of 2022 she said they would be returning to their mother in August. As of the last day of August, N and D are preparing to start school in the Dougherty's school district. There has been no discussion of returning them to their biological mother in recent past.

In fact Alicia likes to speak with the national news as a mother of 12.

In August 2020 the family was featured in People Magazine

The cool thing about not caring about trolls is that anything can be considered trolling, so if you disregard everything that doesn't make you feel good inside you never have to be wrong.

Let's zoom in on something she talks about in the articles - her security camera system.

Alicia says they have security cameras in every room of their house to hold the children accountable if they lie or steal and to capture evidence if one of them molests another. Since that might happen.

She appears to hold 0 amount of concern for the way her internet usage can endanger the children in real life. To emphasis this, let's look back at the beach vacation the family went on earlier in August 2022.

On the way there she doxxed her phone number while paying for $3,100 of groceries plus $350 in alcohol

Screenshot 2022-08-31 2.34.36 PM.png

The first thing Alicia did upon arrival at their rental was post a video of the full exterior with the address number visable.

Screenshot 2022-08-31 2.10.13 PM.png

She later posted a video showing the viewers exactly where each of her children would be sleeping and how far away the adults would be at night. In the beginning of this video she also films her 14 year old foster daughter wearing a shirt that says "I love hot moms" and underwear.

She also let everyone know when she, her husband, and parents were going out at night and would be leaving the children under the supervision of one babysitter

Screenshot 2022-08-31 2.15.03 PM.png

Screenshot 2022-08-31 2.15.46 PM.png

One morning a random man came and started taking pictures with the children

Screenshot 2022-08-31 2.19.34 PM.png

Fans commented about seeing the kids on the beach and how "they didn't really want to talk" and wouldn't take a selfie

Screenshot 2022-08-31 2.36.23 PM.png

Their oldest son went to a party on the boardwalk

Screenshot 2022-08-31 2.40.16 PM.png

And was brought back by the police

Screenshot 2022-08-31 2.45.05 PM.png

To which Alicia posted this

Screenshot 2022-08-31 2.46.45 PM.png

The children are constantly doxxed in real time. Alicia has made public information of where they go to school, their schedule, and every morning she vlogs about what everyone is going to be doing that day while she makes five loaves of pumpkin chocolate chip bread.

Screenshot 2022-08-31 2.49.25 PM.png

She not only reveals their physical location, but humiliating information as well

Screenshot 2022-08-31 2.51.14 PM.png

And shit talks them for laughs

Screenshot 2022-08-31 2.52.19 PM.png

As before mentioned, she talks openly about the children's medical conditions and treatments. Everything from the results of a sleep test, a phone call for a third opinion on a hurt finger, and medication and treatment plans will all be posted on Tiktok.

And now I must confessed that I have saved the worst for last

Some of Alicia's children carry diagnosis of attachment disorders, which she treats in this way

Alicia describes regression therapy as "repetitive motion to teach the brain how to be happy"

Regression therapy does not allow the child to say no to their parent under any circumstances. Holding and bottle feeding are mandatory, and if the child resists they'll be restrained and held harder. They must ask permission for everything - including standing, sitting, or going to the bathroom. Parents are supposed to randomly deny these base level requests to more or less fuck with them. This practice has killed children, holds no scientific merit, and is universally used on children who were unable to please their adoptive parents. It is inherently abusive.

I strongly encourage further reading as she puts out content at a tremendous rate.

For now I'll leave you with this image. It's a gift a fan sent to the children. It's a superman doll with her own face on it. Alicia made this person her head moderator and calls her "my best friend." Her name is Aunty Lauren.

Reduce the number of spoilers you have for the videos. Only use them for anything nsfw or for condensing large amounts of misc information (the one at the end included).

Does this work? I'd like to keep the articles under spoilers for length

Horrifying thread. Or, great job documenting another case of crazy parents dumping everything about their lives including their kids online. We're probably at over a dozen cases like this that actually achieved fame for some insane reason, and we're still finding uniquely terrible people.

@Trees thank you for introducing us to her and putting this OP together so quickly. Great job! Like many people, I’m most curious about her finances. AFAIK you can’t write off anything for a small business that you would buy anyway, so I don’t see how groceries could really cut the mustard with an account. I shall follow this crazy bitch with great interest.

Her tax decisions are definite speculation but she's spending money just as fast as she brings it in. They live as though they have an infinite amount of money now and will never make less than they currently do - in other words, they're a mega sized influencer family.

Alicia makes mindless financial decisions, like spending $300 at the airport on headphones and gum even though she filmed herself packing those. But most things she simply doesn't worry about, such as her belief that none of her kids are going to go to college.

And the septic system is downright notorious. Alicia buys every disposable item she can and does their laundry at the laundromat to save on water. She says they spend $1,500 a month having their septic system emptied while they wait for the government to put their home on city water. They have been waiting for years and might wait years longer, but Alicia prefers to wait for them instead of making upgrades to her septic system or just moving to a house that can accommodate 14 people. Some of the kids are sleeping 3 to a room right now.

Are there popular theories on her mental state? Any armchair diagnoses we should know about?

I love how she admits like half of her adopted kids have fetal alchohol syndrome and she publically outdrinks the irish. The inevitable collapse will produce some wild content, I just hope the kids can make it out ok (they probably won't)
Good op though

Archive everything.

Alicia says she has severe OCD and drinks to an alcoholic degree

Let's take a look at the calf. Don't you love it when a cow comes with a bonus baby cow attached? It's like there's the perfect person out there for them, the foil to their own madness.

This is Aunty Lauren.

Screenshot 2022-08-31 6.37.06 PM.png

Aunty Lauren of Superman Face Doll fame, lives an *EXTREMELY!!!* triggered life. This is how she introduces herself on the subreddit she set up to gently tongue Alicia's anus since r/DoughertyDozen is full of TROLLS!!!!! and BULLIES!!!!!!

It's fortunate that she's an Austrailian woman, because she has a psychotically parasocial relationship with the Dougherty family.

She facetimes the family and is even included in their holiday celebrations

Screenshot 2022-08-31 6.42.24 PM.png

She posts stuff like this

Screenshot 2022-08-31 6.44.17 PM.png

Screenshot 2022-08-31 6.45.05 PM.png

And if you bully her she'll respond like this

(+lawl)

Aforementioned anal tonguing

She operates as Alicia's head moderator on Youtube and seems to have the same privileges Alicia does. Says she trusts and believes in Aunty Lauren.

They aren't children to her, they are objects and trophies that she uses to make herself feel like she's doing good deeds. I presume she can't have any children of her own?
Four children are biological but Alicia says they started adopting after she had 11 miscarraiges.

This really is a case where the emotional validation can be considered as important as the financial aspect. Anything Alicia does results in thousands telling her how they only have one kid and could never. If she unwraps a cheese stick for her kid it's the best thing a mom has ever done. Negativity is not tolerated.

So she really did just fast track herself to full on winemom status, got it. Although I will give her husband all the credit in the world for sticking with her through all of this foster kid bullshit and the 11 miscarriages, assuming that is the same husband. That takes either some serious cojones or a serious belief in a faith that doesn't allow divorce. How heavily does hubby feature in Mrs. Hoards-Children-Like-The-Chandlers-Hoard-Cats' content?

Not as much as you would think. He's kept his teaching job and serves as a small background character.

Sometimes a person claiming to know the Dougherty's in real life will make Reddit posts about what their real life is like. A supposed neighbor said that Josh is an angry drunk, and he is Alicia's documented drinking buddy, but the rest is gossip. Usually whenever he's on camera he comes off as kind of a douche and he posed for pics with that random man outside instead of telling him to fuck off, so he's in bed with it.

I've only watched a couple of her food haul videos but I was amazed at how much junk food she buys for her kids and there's multiple carts of it every trip. That's definitely not good for growing children to have a diet lacking in proper nutrition.
Especially considering she's talked about how important diet is for her kids medical needs. Beyond FASD several of her kids also have gastroparesis and have trouble digesting processed foods.

What she usually says these days is that they don't judge food choices, but maybe it's okay to judge food choices if your kid chooses to eat Doritos and Chips Ahoy exclusively.

Thank you for sharing Alicia and her faults as a mother. I have been following the family's antics for a long time now and her habits just gross me out. Let's just remember that the classmates of her children likely watch these videos and with her over sharing her kids medical conditions and incontinence aids who knows how much ammo they have to bully them relentlessly.

For sure. Alicia says all the kids choose to be in the videos - just like every other family channel ever does. But beyond the obvious parental influence on their decision, how could a child realistically decide not to be included? How would Alicia film her daily roll call? Where would she get her matching outfitted thumbnails? Would Alicia stop talking about them, and would the audience stop asking?

It kills me when parents of a disabled child decide they're going to spread awareness whether they like it or not. Maybe the kid doesn't want everyone to know they take psychiatric medication or have sensitive conditions. Maybe they don't want everyone to know why they were adopted, or that they were even adopted at all. I am very interested in the long term trajectory of these decisions.
