The Endless Drum Beating

I'm biased as my post count is low, but I will say no, please. I'd be ok with being quarantined to read/sticker/bookmark only mode in most subforums until I prove I'm dumb but not malicious, however.

As for why I didn't post before if I cared about the site? You know the scary warning you get when you register to not be a dumbass and link KF to your other identities? I've heard stories about people being similarly dumb and linking their tor identities to their real identities based on temporal correlation or something. I'm probably still doing opsec wrong, but I figure I should at least segregate onion posts, so I only post when forced to onion.
As I said, banning people who haven't logged in for a year or longer (from the point in time when we closed new registrations) is also a valid option. Verified accounts and people of interest would be excluded. This should help curb the sleepers as long as we keep all new registrations "invite only" (or per request by a potential person of interest), with invite power being given exclusively to staff members. We could also at least give limited access with no posting to accounts that weren't invited. All of this would require a lot of work though.

Duckduckgo is now pozzed too.
It was never about free speech on DDG. It was that they didn't track you like Google does.

We were supposed to hate? Did I miss another memo when I was busy sneeding all over the place?

The victory over the evils of this world has already been promised to us. Through the Lord, and the Lord alone, it will be overcome.
I hope the site stays up, but if not, it's been an honor. Farms or no farms, some people will still never be women.

If someone had asked me many years ago if recent user registration dates were something to worry about or keep an eye on I would have said "No". However I'd concede that in the last couple of years the possibility of sleeper accounts or other potential bad actors for gayops has sharply risen (compared to the usual Internet trollling stuff). In general I believe it's just to be expected due to the increase of polarization seeping into everything along with more and more terminally online types looking for ways to paint any they deem as "others" in a negative light. I have a handful of ideas that could possibly curb that kind of activity but I'll just trust in Null's judgement if anything is decided on that limits newer accounts in some form.

Also, as someone who mostly lurks and doesn't say much, I want to say keep fighting the good fight against overbearing bullshit censorship Null.

Up until we had to go Onion, I'm not sure I had been active within the last year. I'd be grandfathered in due to the cutoff date being in the future I guess, but generally speaking I look like a sleeper because I only sign in via the onion network (usually onion URL as well, but I think I did the regular .top over the onion network earlier). I've been around, but I'm aware that mixing clearweb and dark web accounts is bad practice and there was no reason to access KF over tor when the .onion was down and .net was up.

I'd be cool with being put in a childproof room for a while, but I don't like the idea of going kind of tor only and having activity requirements because best practice is to not use the same account inside both inside and outside of the tor network. Having an account that would qualify would mean violating tor best practices, or it would mean not using KF while tor was down. (I'm sure there are ways around it, but using KF.net over tor when the onion link didn't actually work was horrible because of the attempts to automatically upgrade to the .onion version of the site.)

It does that for quite a while now. Interestingly, when I tried to visit the .net address over TOR, I still received the CF-block page for a while. This also doesn't happen now.

Also: I just switched computers, and when I logged in, I was asked to do a reCaptcha ... a reCaptcha! From Google!

I want to call and just fuck with these guys.

"Yes, hello, I am a recovering Kiwifarms extremist. What did I do? Oh horrible things! I said mean things about Andrew Cuomo before it was cool to do so. I mocked President Joe Biden! I doubted the safety and efficacy of the safe and effective vaccines! I questioned transgender heros motives! CAN I RECOVER OR SHOULD I TURN MYSELF INTO THE 1/6 COMMITTEE?!"

"Hello, I was recently involved with extremists and need help."
"Which extremist group were you with?"
"Marxist transsexual antifascists."
Really gotta wonder what the reaction would be.

Given how SS was handled, I think it's just best if the internet isn't a feature in your life anymore

Sucks to see the internet get locked down compared to its wild west-like inception.
Nowadays it seems like you can't even have a difference of opinion without being called a Nazi, alt-right, or a bigot.
Especially on Twitter, they'll throw all Kiwifarms users under the same umbrella.
Even if there are users that just want to see what certain personalities like Boogie2988 or Cooking with Jack are up to.
Destroying a repository of what people themselves put on the net is shortsighted.

I've said it a thousand times, YWABAN (You Will Always Be A Nazi) always holds true.
If you allow one group to be solidified within the contemporary zeitgeist as ontologically evil, as something that any amount of cruelty or suppression is okay to do to, (like it is with nazis right now) malicious actors will always expand that group to include anyone who inconveniences them or whom they simply don't like.
Always expect to be treated like nazis, because sooner or later, you will. Yes, this includes minorities, yes this includes non-hardline liberals. Always be very careful with what you consider an acceptable thing to do to nazis, because sooner or later, you will all be treated like nazis, regardless of what your actual politics are.

To add to this, if you don't believe non-hardline liberals are included here, just look at Destiny. He's a hardline liberal, but he simply wasn't hardline ENOUGH, so he got hit with the nazi stick as well.

The current state of the Farms reminds me of using dial-up BBSs in the '90s. It can take ages to get through, and when you do finally get through you get kicked off after about 30 minutes.

That said, it's also helped slow down many threads and improve signal:noise ratio. It's almost as if Farmers know they only have a limited amount of available time per session and are posting when they have something useful to day.

I have plenty of patience and don't mind it tbqh. Meanwhile those who either want to shut the Farms down or just come along and shit the place up tend to be the terminally online. These folx don't appreciate the struggle of having to wait all day just so you can log in, check for new messages and then craft one or two effortposts (and maybe even a shitpost if you're lucky) before being kicked off until the next day.

Asking as someone who hadn't heard of Yggdrasil until 20 seconds ago, do they seem to be developed by people to would take the stress test as a challenge to overcome instead of a reason to kill the project lest it be used by "the wrong kind of people"?
Late reply, but it's hard to gauge what the reception would be like. I'd imagine there would be more of the usual public displays, but I don't think the devs would intentionally sabotage their own project like Mastodon.

Something to consider is that if KF routed through Yggdrasil, it'd probably be the most active site using the protocol, even if only a fraction of users got it working. If it became a sticking point, it would probably just result in a fork.

1) It's my understanding that Jersh has a lawyer/s already

I just saw this video:

1A lawyer Marc Randazza reaches out to Joshua Moon

I don't know if this is his lawyer or one of his lawyers, but he needs to get any lawyers onboard as he can get. Liz says that the #DropKiwifarms campaign are working with that bitch "Esqueer" from Harvard (who was openly urging people to DDoS, ie commit cybercrimes) to have him sued and prosecuted. You know being in a defensive position in court is always the shittier position. So you either lawyer up now to go after these people first and ASAP, or you wait for them to sue first and then play defense, which fucking sucks.

BTW, for the people who said I was "false-flagging" when I said that I can't visit the Telegram channel in Brave's Tor browser because it's being blocked, here's the screenshot:

Same thing when I try to reach the .onion site.

You can do it but they know it's meaningless. "I hope someone DDoSes that site" just isn't against the law where these companies reside: it's always gonna fall solidly under 1st Amendment protection. So yeah, you can pay your lawyer to waste their lawyer's time, and they can reciprocate, but that's it.
Not if you literally and openly provide part of the code to do it. Then you've entered into a criminal conspiracy with others to knowingly and intentionally commit cybercrimes, to recruit others to participate in the DDoS and to enable their DDoSing with your distributed code. Stop pretending like this is "just words", they are openly conspiring to commit cybercrimes, using Github to collaboratively write & distribute code for that stated purpose, while openly blackmailing their targets over Twatter with deadlines and sending them screenshots of their Github program as a scare tactic, with a Harvard lawyer urging them on and urging others to join them. Furthermore, you're forgetting that the main instigator of all this is now in Europe, so 1A doesn't apply to him. It doesn't matter that he's doing it on an American site (I'm assuming you're referring to Twatter here, though he's been doing the same thing on Reddit too on his subreddit), Europeans get prosecuted for violating their own local speech laws on Twatter all the time. How do you think all the TERFs in the UK get constant scare visits from the police for tweeting at troons that they can't be men?
Don't know, but here is the site archived:
https://archive.ph/https://kiwifarms.net/
The problem with the archive.* mirrors is that you can't click through like with archive.org mirrors, where you can click through up to 2 or 3 level deep into a site, if I recall from the times I kept clicking to see how deep I could go.
