Smaller companies operating off the radar (i.e. not doing public-sector or even public-facing work) are snapping up more of the labor market's talent as this shit worsens in corporate America and staying nimble (and small) enough to actually put people into positions they're best suited to, encourage (and facilitate) advancement and do everything humanly possible to avoid burnout.

Bad shit's coming, and it's going to hit the big companies hardest because of everything you've described in your post. They're just too gargantuan and slow to respond to anything to be able to dodge the looming collapse. The bad news is that's going to fuck over everybody and smash a lot of things we take for granted to pieces. The good news is the smaller businesses that survive will be perfectly positioned to pick up the pieces and start doing things right again.
Sure thing, why don't you try starting your own mom and pop CPU/GPU manufacturing company or bank and let me know how that goes.

No problem. You're well on your way with your car manufacturing business, right?

WTF does this have to do with existing smaller companies performing better than bigger ones as they woke their way into irrelevance? How do you think big companies become big in the first place?

What third world nation could this be? Oh, right, the UK.

Please tell me "rubbers" means something besides "euphemism for condoms" in bongland.

Maybe some of them. But there's a scarier idea. They may not realize that the economy is so bad.

Basically they're claiming labor and low unemployment numbers mean the economy is doing great if not for this weird inflation and whatnot that's gotta just be transitory. BUT they're missing a key piece of the puzzle: America had 1 million COVID deaths and has 20 million people suffering from Long COVID. A significant portion of those people with Long COVID aren't returning to the workforce, but they aren't claiming Unemployment, either! Inflation means an increasing number of people are working two jobs which are skewing the numbers as well. That's your great Unemployment numbers -- the dead, the too sick to work, and the people who said fuckit and left the workforce.

Yeah, they're demanding the recession not be declared until it's suddenly the GOP's problem. But at the same time, they seem to literally think it's going to turn around now, any day now, because their shitty numbers (which they intentionally pulled some tricks with bonds to rig to what they think they "should" be) say the economy's just dandy.

Got all that from this fascinating article, which I think I saw on Twitter or Poast? Or maybe a few pages back?

Long COVID isn't real, faggot.

Long COVID isn't real, faggot.
"Long covid" is what people call the permanent symptoms some people get and is sadly quite real.
Just because you are not getting it from the vax does not mean the spike protein is not dangerous to have in your body.
A nasty Covid infection can still very much fuck up your shit long term, predominantly by trashing your immune system,
causing bloodclots that can be detected in blood test and giving you random systemic inflammation across your body
and specifically the heart/brain, the latter of which can cause seemingly permanent brain damage comparable to that of chemo therapy patients.
There is no exact disease yet, because new studies keep coming out with more symptoms, and because nobody knows exactly what happens or exactly why it happens.
But there is pretty much no doubt that some people have long term symptoms.

Add to all that every case where someone is suffering vax side effects that get blamed on the covid they will probably get,
and you have a significant number of people who have some sort of new long-term health issue/ "long covid".

I wish this wasn't real. But there is a lot of evidence it is, including the sick people themselves lol.
Still no reason to get the vax since that has the same problems (or worse) but denying the existence of covid or long covid is just kinda weird at this point.

You know, we have a Thread on the topic. Good way to keep up-to-date.

Tesla bros, I don't feel so good! Although if you shine a laser to a drivers eye you'd get the same effect.
In what is likely going to be another thorn in the side of Elon Musk, Tesla and Autopilot, it was revealed in a report last week that many self-driving features in vehicles can be "messed with" using lasers.

A brand new study that was put together and uploaded in late October, called "You Can't See Me: Physical Removal Attacks on LiDAR-based Autonomous Vehicles Driving Frameworks" made the revelation, which was also reported on by Cosmos Magazine.

Researchers in the U.S. and Japan found that vehicles could be tricked into not seeing pedestrians (or other objects in their way) using lasers. These cars, which use LiDAR to sense objects around them, send out laser lights and then use the reflection back to judge how far away objects are.

The study revealed that a perfectly timed laser shone back into a LiDAR system can create "a blind spot large enough to hide an object like a pedestrian," according to Cosmos.

The study's abstract says: "While existing attacks on LiDAR-based autonomous driving architectures focus on lowering the confidence score of AV object detection models to induce obstacle misdetection, our research discovers how to leverage laser-based spoofing techniques to selectively remove the LiDAR point cloud data of genuine obstacles at the sensor level before being used as input to the AV perception. The ablation of this critical LiDAR information causes autonomous driving obstacle detectors to fail to identify and locate obstacles and, consequently, induces AVs to make dangerous automatic driving decisions"

University of Florida cyber security researcher professor Sara Rampazzi commented: “We mimic the LIDAR reflections with our laser to make the sensor discount other reflections that are coming in from genuine obstacles.”
"The LIDAR is still receiving genuine data from the obstacle, but the data are automatically discarded because our fake reflections are the only one perceived by the sensor," she continued.
Any laser used in this manner would not only have to be perfectly timed, but would have to move with the vehicle, the report says.
University of Michigan computer scientist Yulong Cao, co-author of the report, said: “Revealing this liability allows us to build a more reliable system. In our paper, we demonstrate that previous defence strategies aren’t enough, and we propose modifications that should address this weakness.”
The research will be presented at the 2023 USENIX Security Symposium, the report says.

The best part about the giant crypto ponzi blowing up is the bitcoin lemmings running around screeching "bitcoin not crypto!" :story: these chuds haven't figured out that bitcoins price action for at least the last 3-4 years have been completely facilitated by these ponzi's, without them the price would be in the gutter, and that's where its headed long term.

You are so right, daddy government should outlaw it already so every payment has to go through the global financial system and Paypal. Lest someone transfer money without their blessing.
That is already "Chud" free too, since those guys (including the farms) got their accounts cancelled for wrongthink. But Kiwifarms is a murder nazi killer website anyways.

Maybe listening to E-Celebrities is a bad idea when it comes to topics more complex than video games.
That may be exactly what a "lemming" would do. Adapt the buzzwords and opinions of clickbaiting NPC youtubers.

People have been saying exactly what you're saying for the last 12 years. If I hadn't listened to them and just gone with my gut I would have been a multi-millionaire by now.
